There's probably a few, they're a pretty well-liked band.
I've gotta say, with the possible exception of ELP, Floyd are my favourite 'classic' prog band (this is high praise coming from someone who equates 'prog' with 'good' in music.) Atom Heart Mother and Dark Side Of The Moon are definite candidates for THE album of the 70s.
Because I choose to.Floyd were great. I like the usual stuff that everyone likes - Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here. But actually I'm a big fan of their early period when Syd Barrett was the leader. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn being one of my favorite albums.
no one will notice that I changed thisI am a fan of the Floyd. I strongly suggest you check out the solo albums Roger Waters and David Gilmour have done as well.

I like Pink Floyd. I really need to listen to more of their early stuff.
Probably my favorite thing they ever wrote is Echoes.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Discovering Pink Floyd when I was seventeen was the biggest step in the evolution of my music taste thus far, and they remain my favourite band.
Top ten songs?
- Echoes
- Time
- Comfortably Numb
- Dogs
- Shine On You Crazy Diamond
- Pigs
- Careful With That Axe, Eugene (specifically, this version, which is just chilling, and far superior to the studio version)
- Empty Spaces/What Shall We Do Now? (again, far superior to the truncated "Empty Spaces" on the album)
- Us And Them
- Sheep

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.I'm personally rather fond of "Jugband Blues", if only because it is one of the few songs to ever frighten me and almost make me cry at the same time. A very intense experience, that.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception. What are the top animated scenes of The Wall? For me I can't forget the hammers.

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.I like some of their stuff- only when I'm in the mood.ISO is nice, but Echoes is... too long.
Two of my friends are big fans though.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.My favorite version of Echoes is probably the one from David Gilmour's Live in Gdansk album. It feels more...substantial than the album version, I guess. I think it's something to do with the guitar tone.
Somehow you know that the time is right.I feel Pink Floyd, along with Led Zepelin and other bands of that ilk get a little repititive.

If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.I don't see how. Each Floyd album is very distinct. Meddle is nothing like Dark Side, which is certainly nothing like Animals, for example.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars. The songs get boring after 3 minutes.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.I saw Roger Waters´ performance of The Wall in Hamburg this summer, and it was an incredible experience. I especially remember Another Brick In The Wall Part 1. That great guitar riff combined with the visual effects of the ocean being projected onto the scenery. That really started the show properly.
As for Pink Floyd, I think it was The Wall that got me to listen to them, but I've since begun to listen to both their early and later stuff. Of their early, psychedelic music I would say that Careful With That Axe Eugene and Set The Controls To The Heart Of The Sun are best.
I can also recommend Roger Waters´ solo album Amused To Death from 1992.
I want to see that show, but there Youtube videos of it. I'm hooked to the whole Waiting For The Worms bit. I can't get enough of those hammers.
What do you think of the animated marching hammers?
Silly as hell.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.I'm working on a fanfiction with an original character who's an embodiment of this band. I've had the idea for a while.
x6 Fight you, sir. Fight you.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.
I've been hooked to this band ever since I first heard Hey You on the radio nearly three weeks ago and my liking for the band is still going strong. I've since looked them up both on this site AND wikipedia, heard more of their songs on the radio (other then the two I've heard before), and even saw youtube videos of The Wall (mainly Waiting For The Worms...I have a strange likng for those hammers).
And I was wondering....are there any other Pink Floyd fans out there?
