Of course not. There's a lot of money to be made in cocaine trafficking, so a lot of people will flock to it looking to be the next kingpin.
Terrorism doesn't have that general appeal. It tends to appeal only to the batshit insane.
No it did not make a diference.
It did change Colombia´s political reality alot. The guy was very powerful, once he was gone the state had a chance to pull it´s shit together and the terorrist actions decreased so it was good for Colombian society, albeit it did not impact cocaine exports.
Killing Escobar was very very good.

I will always cherish the chance of a new beggining.Yeah, there was more of a reason to cap Escobar than just breaking up the coke trade.
Do you really think Bin Laden's death will effect terrorism? As long as their batshit insane people out there (and Humans Are Morons) and causes to fight for, terrorism will exist.
Not particularly. It was still worth the helicopter and every bullet, though.
As for this Escobar fellow, I don't know who he is, but it probably wouldn't have been worth it if we had done it ourselves. However, since we got locals to do it, it seems like it was efficient enough...
I am now known as Flyboy. When they killed Escaobar he had no where near the power he did at his peak.
I think someone said it was good to kill Escobar because he had too much power, at the time of his death, he was in hiding. I think this brings up the old debate about killing these kinds of guys. One view is too quote Munich "Why cut my fingernails they'll only grow back?"
It is always a good idea to arrest and shoot these kind of guys, regardless of the effect it will have on the organisations they command. Doing otherwise removes the consequences, and will only make things worse.
To follow on from your quote, if we don't cut out fingernails, they'll become ingrown and hurt us.
Dreamkeepers Prelude, check it out!Actually the going saying that quote was agreeing with you.
In any case I think we can all agree that his death had no impact on cocaine trafficking.
