Let's see if I've got it right:
- Faen: Yes, a little sloppy but close enough
- Kau: No - back is short with 3 tails.
- Shala: tied back to create a tomboysh ponytail, but yes.
- the de la Vallière sisters: borderline. Wavy with very sloppy trim.
Note: each of these characters can claim to be literal royalty.
The first one isn't really. It's a little too sloppy to be called a good example. This is a very clean hair cut. The third is a little sloppy. The first is just sort of a mess.
Faen in comic is even weirder because her hair is neater, but is four lengths instead of three. She has weird side locks that stick up. That image is much messier than she wears it. It's really sort of interesting, because the trope went into her character design, but it's obvious the fan artists aren't familiar with it because they really make a mess of it. It's clearer in the flash animation.
The fourth one doesn't look like the trope and it's not just the waviness. It's more of a shaggy look rather than the clean look this trope calls for.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI'm not sure I'd count any of them. They're all too messy. Maybe Faen from the flash, depending on if you discount her for those upper thingies.

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything. To me it looks like the bangs are too uneven to be considered straight across.
,Thanks, I won't add any of them. That may actually help me with the "Sloppy Hime Cut" YKTTW.

Are those Danbooru links I see?
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerProbably. Right. That page needs a purge.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAny ideas what to purge? I'm not confident doing it myself.
At the moment, I'd like to chop off this◊ and Evangeline and Chachamaru. While these two actually have a Hime Cut, the image isn't a very good illustration of it.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThat one has no bangs. Any without one of the lengths need to go. I'm ok with the Negi one. It shows a good example of when the hair is neat and even, but a slightly more detailed drawing style with individual strands. Notice that the ends of the points all make a straight line. That's a good sign.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickKonoka looks alright, but I think Evangeline and Chachamaru◊ are rather poor. I'd rather we only leave images where the traditional traits of kimono Yamato Nadeshiko-esque, Ojou and Elegant Gothic Lolita show up.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThe Eva and chachamaru one is a fan art I wouldnt mind seeing it replaced. (the image does show a more realistic version of it though.)
They are an example though Goth Loli and Yamato Nadeshiko reasons respectively.
[1]◊[2]◊ ([3]◊ odd how her Negima Second Season creation make her hair a bit like kitty ears.)[4]◊[5]◊[6]◊[7]◊ 3 examples here one with akira in the ponytail version◊
Loli Chachamaru even messes with a short haired version.◊ (long story on that kid body.)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I know they are examples, I just think it would be better if they are shown in the actual clothes that usually accompany the personality traits. Like, Eva in an Elegant Gothic Lolita outfit, or in an Ojou-esque fuku.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI like Raso's last one as a replacement. That shows the full trope the best. At least on Evangaline. Just make a note that it's the blond you're supposed to pay attention to.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI was thinking of making a thread for Elegant Gothic Lolita as the pic shows off the costumes more than the current the current is lacking in the frills department. (or just image links it) but sure I guess.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!It would be a good page image for that, but being a page image for another page doesn't mean it can't be an image link in another place.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickReplaced.
Can anyone take care of the rest of the links? I don't think I can.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI took care of them.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI will try and repopulate examples from different series (like a good Gosick picture showing off the Elegant Gothic Lolita style more [1]◊[2]◊[3]◊[4]◊[5]◊[6]◊[7]◊[8]◊) when I get some time to pick a few and find a good image host... imageshack is now limiting the numbers of images you can have uploaded to 500... I have much more than that in my account in imagelinks and forum links on this site....
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Good luck with that, Raso. I appreciate the help. Some kimonos, miko outfits, and other upper class or traditional cues would be good as well.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickYamato Nadeshiko, Miko, Elegant Gothic Lolita, The Ojou (generally not the Royal Brat or The Libby types).
And @ Alto Saotome that one is really tough, the bangs are not quite right (they are close but with 1 feather being Peek A Bangs style) but it was clearly suppose to invoke this but a guy and its in The Future.
In-Universe his nickname is "Hime" with Dude Looks Like a Lady moments and Bishōnen.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!We've got a messy version in YKTTW for things that are supposed to invoke it, but aren't quite this trope.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickHmmm, are Colette's bangs too uneven?
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer
Three, though the third would be more obvious not tied back, it's not needed. It's still at least a couple inches longer.
