@Noir Grimoir: Sorry, I must not have parsed that right.

[up][up]Did you even read my post all the way through? I addressed that already.

Can someone put a crowner up already? I would but I don't know how. Single Prop would be fine probably. Issues would be

  • "Rename trope to be more clear"
    • Current trope name is misleading upon first glance for a female Barrier Warriar.
    • "Barrier" does not adequately describe most of the examples without the need for metaphorical stretching, while a name such as Keystone Maiden or Living Keystone would without the need for stretching.

  • "Leave trope as is"
    • Apart from a particular character (Orihime), there doesn't seem to be a lot of misuse.
    • In a convoluted way the name can be metaphorically stretched to cover most examples.

When the crowner is made, I'm voting it down. No missue (outside one work) means no problem.

Keystone is just as metaphorical as barrier, and frankly, the word "maiden" tends to make it hard for me to think of this as equivalent to Barrier Warrior, especially because the term warrior is already gender-neutral. All that coupled with the lack of misuse makes it very hard for me to even consider supporting a rename, even though I'm not in love with the current name.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.

So what are we doing on this? If we aren't going to rename, then we should probably just close this (though I do think the description could be reworked a little at the least).

I think we can just lock this up unless anyone has any more objections.

Noir, if you think the description isn't cohesive enough for your taste, you're welcome to rewrite it in one voice.

As much as I want the name changed, it seems I've been outvoted, shall we call for a lock?
