I'm not sure that it's different enough from an "I Want" Song. I'd suggest putting it up on YKTTW and keeping an eye on the suggested examples, to see how many of them are simply I Want Songs.

Fixed the Grease example and worked the description a bit.

Came across this very sad little page a while back while looking for musical tropes to add to the Teddy Ruxpin cartoon page.
It feels like there's a workable trope here, but I don't have near enough extensive knowledge of musicals (or all of our Music-related tropes) to fix it, or to know if it actually is worth saving.
