It'll be interesting to see how it works out, and it is quite nice to see someone finally put their money where their mouth is, vis-a-vis trying to create a properly libertarian society as a demonstration of libertarianism.

I've heard before that libertarianism only truly works if all aspects of it are libertarian, and that we aren't truly in a libertarian society, so this interests me.

Will it have complete free trade? Because it won't be libertarian unless anybody can just waltz in and enjoy the same stuff.

It will fail like that bio-dome project and it will fail hard!

Anyone bet how long this will last I am voting that this is the crisis on December 21,2012 we are all waiting to see.If not I don't know what it would be.

Nah, it's probably not even going to get off the ground, let alone be complete and functional by 2012.

All I can say is the guy who proposed this should save his money and look at a project that can actually benefit humanity in the long run.

This'll benefit humanity in the long run. When it fails hardcore, maybe people will friggin get the idea that anarchism/libertarianism doesn't work and stop trying to introduce it into politics.

There is nothing wrong with libertarianism. There is a problem with absolutism and lack of compromise. The distinction might as well not matter to the politicians, however.

Wouldn't this island count as an anarcho-captalistic place?There are two things I don't want in this world anarchy or total government control.This project screams anarchy so it will fail from the start(five months is my best estimate).

I was always centrist. Though at this point I really... really... don't care anymore.

Well it's good to know that while some people in the world can't afford to feed their kids, crazy rich people are still able to throw away millions on crazy schemes like "I'm going to build my own tax haven!"
