I believe the main reason for this is so that Google's Android phone operating system can now have a phone tailor-made (and owned) by Google, as opposed to needing to use other companies to do it.
Something like that?

I'm wondering just how close Google is to getting hit witn an anti-trust suit though, after hearing this. May not be at all in the cards, but the perception is certainly there.

So it appears that Google got its hands on Motorola now. I'm curious at the possible implication this will have and does anyone have any idea? I'm no good at economics.
