Multiple Introversions?

I was comparing a friend of mine and I mentally. Compared to most friends, I would definitely call myself the more introverted. However, with this one friend of mine, I'm not quite certain. Here's why. In one-on-one conversations, I think there's little question that I'm the more outgoing and more chatty one. He tends to prefer shorter, blunter answers and ends the conversation pretty quickly. However, he is the one who usually tends to go out to parties and other activities that have lots of people at once. I despise those sorts of things with a passion, and would rather spend time on my own.

So there are clear comparisons that can be drawn, but they're on different things. That's why I'm uncertain, and so I'm wondering if there are multiple types of introversions. Any thoughts on the subject?

There are multiple types of everything.

Introversion is just a psychological construct composed of many different distinct traits that tend to be positively correlated with one another. It's fairly likely that you would each express these individual traits in differing amounts.

There are probably all kinds of introverts.

I'm pretty introverted but I have no problem talking to people out in public or at school or whatever.

Its just I get uncomfortable at parties. We just had one for my grandmother at my house, and sure I socialized but I spent about 60% indoors because it was too hot and I didn't have much to talk about.
