Moving potentially billions of people like that isn't easy. Plus, you have to question whether or not Not!Earth could plausibly sustain the addition immigrants. And the thing which kills so many of the women might also kill most of the men going the other way.
Which is why Kagura and Jin have shown no ill effects whatsoever.
And yeah, those other things were what I was referring to when I said that approach had some problems. They just aren't extinction-level problems.
Well, things are getting interesting, as we're finally given a connection to Genesis this week. I'll let the others hammer out the specifics, though there was a lot of exposition, particularly on the side of Altair.

Still not out yet, for us non-speakers. Looking forward to it, though.
Subs are out now.
So that confirmed those 2 suspicions have about Kagura and Mikono.
But now Kagura has turned fully Yandere this is gonna get scary.
I think Kagura is not gonna end up being a Heel–Face Turn now (Jin seems to be taking that role)
Yeah, so things are starting to get really interesting.
We're starting to see the first real evidence emerge that Kagura=Apollo and Mikono=Sylphie, but I don't think that's the whole story yet. In rough order of appearance, I'd rate the most interesting revelations as a) Alicia left behind a child, which probably makes her Amata's mother. This is very significant to the whole Altair/Vega story, given that Izumo's probably the father. b) Zessica's had some sort of mirror-related vision thing. Given that it's not her known elemental power, it's confirmation that she's more important than she appears thus far. That nature of the vision is another matter. Until I see evidence to the contrary, the logical conclusion is that she's Reika/Scorpius) c) Mikage refers to Kagura as a temporary or short-blooming flower. I got nothing, but I'm pretty certain that makes the whole reincarnation thing not as straightforward as it appears.
Episodes 12, 13, and 14 are going to be REALLY interesting, if this follows the pattern of significant revelations at the midpoint set by the previous series.
Also, we're back to the original ED lyrics this episode.

we also now know for sure that Mykage is after the original Sousei No Aquarion, and is willing to emotionally manipulate Kagura/Apollyon's memories of Sylvie to do it even if it mentally damages him immensely
My personal Guess is Jin will pilot aquarion in the next episode or two to defend the new friends he's made and also to keep Kagura's newly insane mindset from compromising the mission

Hmmm, I'm kind of thinking Amata is Sylvie & Apollo's descendant (which makes him Sylvie, actually... Uh... Kind of?) I've still yet to figure out Zessica though.

Zessica seems to be having the same type of visions OVA Reika had. That said, it would be funny if she turns out to be Rena's reincarnation instead.
if anything, that makes Amata a completely new factor. Since it seems pretty obvious Kagura is Apollo
Remember that Apollo & Sylvie were already reincarnations. (Sylvie being the direct descendant of Celine)
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI personally subscribe to the theory that Kagura and Amata are different aspects of Apollo.
I mean, even aside from general plot stuff, the OP and ED both imply a strong duality between the two of them.
I have not seen the first series. How does it fair compared to Evol?
It's pretty similar.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI feel like, in general, the biggest difference is that the original took itself more seriously than Evol.
True, but only very, very mildly.
It was still basically one really long sexual innuendo.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntAlso, the structure of the episodes overall. The normal episode format in the original was: enemy shows up, fights Aquarion, Aquarion gets owned, team goes back for training and learns a lesson, fight happens with Aquarion developing new powers.
Fight smart, not fair.I'm gonna try the original after this one finishes airing because I'm pretty sure I'm gonna miss this show after it ends.
Be warned - The first one doesn't really hit it's stride until halfway through, and the cast in general isn't nearly as likeable.
That said, it IS worth watching.
Whoah, Zessica is starting to turn creepy.
Also, is this the sequel to the movie or the TV-series? Because flashback!Sylvie looks nothing like anime!Sylvie (then again that might just be Alicia)

Pre-airing interviews say that the setting of EVOL is a parallel world to the TV series. There are a lot of theories going around related to this, but the most prominent seems to be that EVOL's world (Vega) is just the TV series world further in the future, while Altair is what the OVA Earth ended up as.
Alright, so I'm starting to get a little frustrated with the series at this point. I keep waiting for the 'big, shocking revelation' and it's not happening. All we got this episode was confirmation of stuff we found out last episode: Namely, Alicia is Amata's mom.
Also, they need to do SOMETHING with Zessica asap. She's too prominent in the OP/ED for her to remain as the requisite 'third wheel' in the love triangle, but they've really done nothing else with her. There's a little more evidence for my initial theory that Zessica=Selene/Sylvia theory this episode, namely that her power is now confirmed to be telekinesis, but it's starting to feel like a Red Herring, given the focus placed on Mikono so far.
Between Aquarion and Rinne this has been a pretty downer week.
That pretty much means a whole-sale abandonment of Altair though, and I'm sure that Kawamori will just give us a reason WHY they haven't done so yet.
