Yeah. The only possible hint that this might have been the case in Genesis that I can recall was Rena's vision of Apollo-as-dog, and everyone dismissed that as simply Raised by Wolves.

I'm really struggling to think of what possible circumstances they could be under that would produce this as a legitimately good direction to take the story. Think about it; this revelation means:

-Apollo's wing-scars where absolutely meaningless, as was every bit where he was apparently possessed by Apollonious.

-Touma, despite being madly in love with Apollonious for thousands and thousands of years, and despite having magical shadow-angel powers that we are supposed to believe gives him unique authority on the matter, is completely unable to identify his reincarnation.

-Silvia was moron who couldn’t spot Apollonius’ (now retconned as full) soul in Aquarion even though she got in it every other day.

-Mikono, despite not having the foggiest idea who Celiene is, or any knowledge that such a character might have existed, is magically more in-tune regarding the reincarnation business than Silvia, who knew who she was a reincarnation of, and who actually had the memories of her predecessor.

Even the wildest fan speculation that I've heard regarding EVOL is less utterly retarded than what we just got in the last episode.

Actually, I can kinda see what he's doing here. Basically rather than having the standard recurring Reincarnation Romance he's setting up a pattern where it's being... Twisted? Removed? Broken? So we have a new couple every reincarnation.

Its pretty stupid regardless.

The very same episode had Shrade's blood turn into music notes.

Now now lets be fair. Music is an integral part of Shrade's character.

You realize that this is a change roughly equivalent in scope to the entire Macross franchise becoming a story about remote-controlled attack drones using jpop-based encryption on their command channel, right?

x6 Last time I checked Touma told them Apollo was not the Reincarnation of Solar Wing Aquarion was so he appearntly knew all along.

Then he shouldn't have been so mad that it manifests as Mykage.

Especially when Sylvia helped him realize what he's been doing and they Homogattai to save the world.

He had a heel face turn partly because he realized that Humans feel emotions (Him and the other shadow angels did not think they did, which is why they had no issues with using them as cattle to be slaughtered.)

I think the implication is pretty clearly that Touma had no idea that Apollo was the dog, and that's why he's been such an asshole as Mykage.

I don't think trying to speculate about this now will do anyone any good.

When you look at people's reactions to it, that's meta as hell. But I think it makes more sense if it's the whole thing, even if that probably didn't help.

His anger appears to be more about the fact that he was tricked/deceived into thinking Apollo was Apollonius. Not hatred for humanity as a whole.

Didn't he help save the world because he had no reason to want the world to be destroyed?

More or less and because he finally realized "his" Apollonius was happier with Celiane.

I actually felt kinda sad when Shrade died.

I haven't watched the original Aquarion so I'm not sure what the controversy is about.

Was on a thread earlier and it had posted a recent interview of Aquarion Evol.

Amongst other things it says:

1.Pollon was a upper class Angel and is the Beast Star Angel.

2.Mykage was reborn before the characters like Fudo stated but his body eventually died. So he's been preserving his life until he could get a new body. He choose Zessica because her heart full of pain was like his own. She also has parts of her that resonate with him and will determine whether or not she can remove him from her body

3. Mykages feelings of love are the same as Kaguras and Amatas. The difference is the actions he has taken to fulfill his love. Pollons attachment to Celiane is similar to Mykages as well.

This was a great episode. It gives me hope that there's going to be an Earn Your Happy Ending looming.

Ouch. Sucks to be Izumo. There's nothing worse than dying knowing that everything you did ended up hurting your cause more than you helped it, Alicia's words of encouragement aside.

But- this revelation is very good news for the rest of Altair. Well, they're still in a bind, unless they find some way of turning guys into girls (really hope they do, so we can fix Andy/Mix), but they have a shot at survival now.

All it took was a single episode to make Alicia and Izumo into horrible parents. Amata's life is suffering. And he doesn't even know that Zessikage was controlling Kagura into killing their mom.

..Jesus..all I can say is now I feel even worse for Kagura, Amata, Zessica, Mikono..and especially Izumo. Mykage is a fucking MONSTER.

I think it should be no surprise to anyone that MYKAGE IS A FAGGOT. IN THE WORST POSSIBLE SENSE OF THE WORD.

HE IS ALSO GAY, BUT THAT IS ENTIRELY BESIDE THE POINT.

Its ok, Amata and Kagura will fuse and then he can spend the rest of his life being a sexy red haired bishounen getting stared at by chicks.

If he doesn't die at the end of the show that is.

Amata's life is pretty pitiful◊. Kagura's is to but he's so messed up that a normal life wouldn't be possible for him even if this was over.

x2 He's also a mass murderer. But Izumo and Alicia had it coming.

Yeah, they are never going to win any Parent of the Year awards, and were a bit late (only a decade or so!) in reconciling with Amata, but Mykage offing them for kicks was in and of itself still a dick move.

And like the pic shows, Amata's life already had enough problems, including the world's most useless love interest, before finding his parents and then having them killed before his eyes in the span of a few minutes.

Not to mention you had to find it just a little crushing that everything Izumo fought for, gave up his son and lover for, and did everything for..turned out to have been all along simply caused by Ianthe, the same system supposedly saving his world
