Already? I guess the chapters aren't from this week. Is it already finished? There is just one more chapter, after all.
Not sure, this is still Dragon Ball, after all. Ultimately it depends if the future change or not. By Dragon Ball canon, however, it is perfectly possible for Bardock to just defeat this Chilled dude and end up what would be Freeza empire, changing completely the history.
Wow... Incredible, nice AU. I'd love to see more of this.
A trve man never dies, even when he's killed!I bet Chilled was supposed to be King Cold's father.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I was betting in a more distant relationship. This seems to be a lot back in the past. Not only the technology is a much less developed, but there is also alien beings in the Vegeta Planet Bardock never heard of. Seems to be much more then a two generation in the past (although we don't know how long Freeza's race lives).
I think he's 1000 years in the past, and going to become the first Super Saiyan. I think it's amusing that he's so angry he's not listening to Chilled saying Freeza! Over and over again.
But Dragon Ball doesn't work with Stable Time Loop. A change in the past will only create an Alternate Universe.
This could easily be a retcon, don't sweat it. They'll just say they retconned it in the history or something, like how Saiyans were once plant people.
If it's just an Alternate Universe, it's pointless to worry about the rules of the standard DB-verse. It's like trying to apply those to Cross Epoch or the recent kiddy retelling of the early DB.

Hmm? Where did you get the Sayajins were once plant people? It is just said their planet was once called 'Plant' and that there is some weird aliens before them. I never got the impression these people would become the Sayajins one day. For all we know there are some monkeys in the next corner and Chilled was supposed to wipe out all these 'plant people'.
Except Cross Epoch had nothing similar to Dragon Ball universe while this special is just a 'what if'? I mean, not saying that it is absolutely impossible for they to just ignore the universe rules, but this comparison is just silly. The 'it is just a gag manga, don't sweet it' is a much better argument.

I'd never been a huge fan of DB, and didn't even knew who Bardock was, but this is very interesting.
I suppose Shonen Jump doesn't do What Ifs very often, based on the comments. Marvel does what ifs all the time.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackThere can be a sort of Stable Time Loop, as long as it happens in every timeline. There couldn't be a stable time loop in Future Trunks' case because he changed events which resulted in him not being sent back in the time line he visited. So, Trunks would only go back in time if his time line hadn't been visited by another Trunks, meaning a stable time loop can't exist. In Bardock's case, it could be as going back in time and becoming the Original Super Saiyan doesn't conflict with anything in the time line that would prevent him from coming back in time.
So basicly, Bardock is Becoming Beethoven?
Well, no, because in every timeline he is in the past as the Original Super Saiyan. So he's not replacing Beethoven, he always WAS Beethoven. There is no "first" timeline for this to be a problem, as their is an infinite number of time lines. Just my theory. My other theory is that this will tie into Dragon Ball Online with Miira having rescued him.
But this is definitely a "what if". In the movie, he was caught in the planet-destroying Death Ball and disintegrated. Here, he jumped clear and was flung into the past by the explosion, somehow.
I have a message from another time...That's just because the author changes some elements, like in Dragon Ball SD (Chapter 3 being the best example).
Well, we could assume that there's a time loop, despite that the universe always worked on branching timelines, and a retcon that ruins (OK, not really ruins, but significantly diminishes the impact) of what's possibly the best story to come out of dragon ball...
... or we could just take it as a "What if?" AU.
SSJ Bardock and Chilled will appear in the next Dragonball video game.
Bardock's already been in games. He had a golden aura in SSW 2(not the hair or eyes though).
I'm not sure what they'll do with Chilled unless he has some interesting new technique...who am I kidding they'll throw him in regardless. "Freeza Soldier #2"
