It doesn't matter whether or not it's generic, as long as it fulfills what it was created to do. Generic shows designed to entertain people are OK, as long as someone finds them entertaining. I'm not so arrogant as to say something is horrible because it's generic.
Searching for meaning in meanings
Yeah, but generic is never going to reach 'good.' At best it doesn't sink below mediocre. Fun to watch for some, but completely forgettable.

Two new anime:
- Another
: A horror Light Novel adaptation with character designs by Noizi Ito. The plot is centered around a school class that has a curse, and the string of unavoidable deaths that befall the boys and girls in that class. It will premire this January.
- Kyousogiga: A original anime colabaration between Toei Animation and Banpresto. So far the cast includes Rie Kugimiya, Kenichi Suzumura, Chiwa Saito, and Eri Kitamura. It will premire online this December.

I was wondering where Shinbo and SHAFT had disappeared for two seasons (besides counting the massive piles of cash from PMMM). That's a very good reason (and hopefully they've been planning this for long enough to avoid the problems Bakemonogatari ran into...).
^^I think the Negima movie and the Bakemonogatari movie may have had something to do with that

Do you think you will have to have watched Bakemonogatari to watch Nisemonogatari? It'sw just that the central characters seem different.

When you say that you didn't finish Bakemonogatari, did you mean that you gave up waiting for the web originals to be uploaded?
But to answer your question, I never saw much of the Araragi sisters in the later episodes so my guess would be 'maybe just a little'?

I enjoyed it. But maybe I was too biased. I hear alot of Japan got butthurt over the voice actor not being the original one.
I just concluded there wasn't enough moe girls in it but i'm cynical.
Uhm sorry, didn't mean to derail. Just saw a sales chart and seeing all my favorite shows at the near bottom while the shows I hate topping the charts has kind of made me sad.

Well, I never finished Bakemonogatari because I don't particularly like vampires or either of the two main characters, but the sequel looks different so, maybe I'll try watching the first episode and see what happens.
