If I ever fire hop, please forgive me. You see, I was stuck on time trials for a long time and now I sometimes fire hop out of habit. It doesn't help that when raving online I end up having to use that to catch up.

Ah, that's why I was trying to learn how to fire hop.
I was trying to get as close to the world records as possible. I got into the top 100 of all of them at one time. I don't know if I still am. But it was neat, hehe.
Time trials are so hard. I watched the replays of the people who were in first place for the World Record and tried to emulate it until I got in the top 100.

It doesn't ring a bell, so I might have been doing it without knowing it.

It's an exploit where you constantly hop after a boost so that it lasts longer. You could call it "Easy Mode Snaking".

Is it weird that I know how to snake, but fire hopping is really hard for me to do? Although it might be because I misunderstood what they mean by "hopping afterward" since I always see people alternate directions after doing the drift boost.

Does anyone else like to color-coordinate their kart/tire setup? Flame Rider + Crimson Slim (red), Duke + Cyber Slick (purple), B Dasher + Retro Off-road (white), Landship + Wood, etc.

Yes. That is how it MUST be. Except instead of Crimson Tires I use Metal Tires on the Flame Rider.

Still taking a break mind you; want to do more on Hyrule Warriors, got a digital copy of The Wonderful 101, still want to play Wind Waker HD, and I haven't gotten back to Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate yet.
And those are just my Wii U games. The 3DS is a mess too.
