We already have one for Terrible cartoons, so why not ones for that many feel were not looked at enough or had more potiential than what they had at the time.

One of these is Wildfire, as Rowdy C More of TV Trash talks about. After watching his review, it did seem like it could of been a great full series, but only after one season it ended up being canceled, even though it treated mature subjects at the time without having to resort to And Knowing Is Half the Battle at the end of each episode, and without feeling heavy handed an din your face all the time.

We had a topic like this, but it got locked for being an "Unpopular Opinions" thread.

Anyway, since my answer is pretty predictable I'll go ahead and say it: He-Man, She-Ra and Bravestarr. Yes I know I called the latter a "terrible" cartoon in the other thread but watching it now I'm compelled to be more forgiving. These shows had a quality of characterization, a visual aesthetic, and awesome soundtracks the likes of which you never see anymore. Unfortunately most people can't get past the animation flaws, which are honestly somewhat exaggerated.

I think I bring this up in every cartoons thread, but Bob Morane. Based on a Belgian book series, it is about a freelance agent who fights mad scientists and evil an immortal mongolian crimelord and should be a lot more popular than it is. Than again, I am not even sure it actually has an English dub.

This topic and any similar topic is build around Opinion Myopia, so there is really no point in trying to call someone out on it.

I'm not even sure what maxwellelvis is talking about anyway...

Oh yeah, I just remembered one more:

Highlander The Animated Series - French-animated but American-written post-apocalyptic cartoon set against the backdrop of the Highlander universe. Basically, after the end of the world an immortal named Kortan (honestly one of the better villains to come out of American minds) used the opportunity to take over. Since the other immortals know they can't take him in a fight they're hedging their bets on the latest member of the MacLeod clan (this time a kid named Quintin). The animation leaves a little something to be desired but the setting, the atmosphere, the tone the stories the characters, they're all top-notch. Unfortunately this show usually gets a lot of hate because "it's not like the Highlander movies" (even though it actually keeps a lot of themes and concepts from the first film).

Fortunately Highlander was released in two "Complete Series" sets—one in 2007 the other in 2009, and they're both exactly the same content-wise and both can still be bought new from Amazon for less than $20.

Some shows I want to mention real quick:

Mega Man (also available on DVD, but out of print and pricey)

Battletech the Animated Series (not on DVD, sigh)

and of course, Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates! (also not on DVD. What's wrong with the world?)

The Legend of Zelda: Sure, it can be cheesy, but it had at least a few good plots and excellent orchestrations. Besides, it's not like there's going to be a Zelda anime anytime soon.

Nope. It was one of my favorites back then (along with Tom & Jerry). There was also a nineties series, but I'm not sure how good it is. Considering that I don't remember it as much as the old series, I doubt that it was great.

[up][up][up]I know that a new Pink Panther series debuted on CN (in the US anyway) about 2 years ago, but they stuck it at, like, 7 am on Sunday mornings and gave it absolutely no promotion and no replays during the week. Unless you stumbled across it or were actively checking listings, there's no way you'd know it existed. I remember that it was mentioned in the same press release as Young Justice and Thundercats, The Looney Tunes Show, and Mystery Inc in so far as CN said they were bringing it back for another season, but otherwise it seems like they're trying to bury it. Is it even still on?

Beast Machines is a really underated cartoon series. Sure, it did have some warts (I'm looking at you, Nightscream), but overall it remains as one of the only Transformers shows that really makes one think deeply, touching on our present society, our modern-day codes of ethics, and the nature of free will. In addition to that, I think it's the only show I've seen that actually tackles the nature versus technology and environmentalism debate maturely and fairly.

The Zelda cartoon not dark and edgy? It has an obnoxious main character!

I thought it wasn't bad. Sure it wasn't good but it was average.

I actually really liked Link's characterization in the show. He's pretty easy to like if you get past his catchphrase. And I even liked that.

How about The Animals of Farthing Wood? It's like some sort of epic journey kind of thing, a bit like Lord of the Rings, except it has animals. Good luck trying to find it nowadays, though.

Yeah, Link's personality in the cartoon is better than in the games where he had basically no personality.

Actually, searching "Farthing Wood" on Amazon.co.uk gets a few results, including VHS tapes (though likely those won't watch on a US VCR)

Back at the Barnyard. I don't get why some people hate this show so much. It seems So Okay, It's Average to me and I don't get why some people act like this show is almost as awful as Fanboy and Chum Chum.

Some of the lesser-known Hanna Barbera cartoons, like Wally Gator. How about Lucky Luke, or Peter Potamus? Hell, even Squiddly Diddly could fit into Jump Start 1st Grade

I thought Pelswick was a pretty great show. Came out around the time of Spongebob's rise though and was stuck in a schedule death slot. The fact that it got a second season was surprising enough.

I also enjoyed rewatching Capitol Critters recently. The fact that it'll forever get written off as a Simpsons rival is really sad, since both shows had a completely different style.
