Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

In fairness, Ultron did that.
Tony just sort of rolled with that bad decision.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAt least put some duct tape over it.
That would be progress.
Well the thing shoots lasers.
Anything you put over it is going to get a hole shot through it. Or maybe explode.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThen again, Rhodey might prefer if it shot a few less lasers.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.That's fair.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAt this point, the MCU should be renamed the Tony-Stark-fucked-everything-up Universe
Ahem. "Does anybody remember when I put a missile through a portal, in New York City? We were standing right under it."
Yeah, so if I could just find happiness, that'd be great.Tony Stark really messes things up with his lack of foresight, inner demons and general negligence.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."I just realized that if Hulk is in Thor: Ragnarok, Loki's probably going to meet him again at some point.
Why do you think he's been hiding out as Odin? He doesn't want that ass whooping again.
"We also remember that it was your stupid tower that allowed that portal to be opened in the first place. Maybe next time you feel the need to validate your manliness with excessive phallic symbolism, you should think about that"

Not quite, he also needed the energy source.
No, Alliterator's right. They explicitly state that he set up there because he wanted to wipe his balls on the Avengers. Steve mentions that he needed a power source and Loki does use the arc reactor for that, but it's never indicated that he needed the reactor specifically. Just "a power source".

Ah yes, that could be Marvel's motto at this point. "Marvel where everything is somehow Tony Stark's fault (even when it blatantly isn't)."
Not that he'll actually suffer any comeuppance for it if it is any way.
His friends will be very mad at him for five minutes and then completely forget halfway through the movie.
Eh. I'm sure the crippling guilt he suffers and the fact that he continues to destroy his own friendships will be more than enough.
Send him to jail so he can get beat up too though.
One Strip! One Strip!Hadn't seen this before but Madame Hydra is coming to Agents of SHIELD.
I'm so excited for Infinity War to finally get here.
- Vision: (shows up out of nowhere and starts lasering Thanos)
- Tony: Boy, it's a good thing I ignored you and built an awesome protector robot, isn't it?
- Thanos: (tears Vision limb from limb) Oooh! (plucks the Mind Gem)
- Steve: Boy, it's a good thing you put an important MacGuffin right inside his face.
