WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD!

In my story Darth Wiki/Reconnected, the protagonist's niece is taken away by mysterious people as they knew that she's a technopath too (a powerful one at that, since only males can inherit the technopath gene) and the Big Bad is intending to use her since her powers are way higher than his, starting by getting on her good side, claiming that he was the one who saved her from a second to death. (And yeah, she's also an Apocalyspe Maiden)

Okay, it sounds cliche and all, but this sort of character (the protagonist's niece) tend to lack of characterization since mostly everyone is using her as a tool rather than a human being. I tried writing out her personalities on a piece of paper, but so far nothing works. Ideas are welcome.

Well, let's see what I do when I come up with personalities.

For me, the idea for a character comes in the form of their job. I think about who they are on the job- do they care about their job? How to they treat their job? Do they have friends or other relations with coworkers? How are they with their boss? You could probably think about how she feels about being used only for her powers and perhaps wonder if anybody cares about who she is as a person. Being a technopath is kinda her 'job' of sorts, right?

[up] Well, she's still a teenager (and one of the only few out of the entire story; the rest are all adults) so like most teenagers she's still in search of her own identity and strengths. Yeah, so at the start she's stuck in a whirlpool of problems like her aunt (the protagonist, if you're asking). And she pretty much dislike being told what to do (something we all experienced before as teenagers ourselves or us being one in the past).
