So long as the topic is up, I'd pose another question - are there any games where the playable character is one of the above, by default? I'm drawing a lot of blanks. I'm sure there's probably some H-games out there, but that would be more fetish oriented and less mainstream.
EDIT: WHAT THE FUCK!? Spoilers, geez.

sorry forgot
Don't spoiler the name of the game...
By default? Uh... hmm...
Does Rogue have the Amulet of change, or was that introduced in future roguelikes?
Well, in Phantasmagoria A Puzzle Of Flesh, the main character Curtis Craig is attracted to men and women. Trevor Barnes is gay, and in a nonstereotypical way. There are also claims that Bob Arnold in the same game is secretly attracted to Curtis, and that is why he acts like such a Jerkass. Therese is attracted to men and may be attracted to women.
In the Fear Effect series, playable characters Hana and Rain are attracted to both men and women. Word of God confirmed that the two of them are not lesbians and that they would prefer not to have labels stuck on them.

Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!Well, Bioware has a tendency to have gay options in games...
But perhaps more befitting is the fact that in Mass Effect 3, you will be able to have Shepard come out to other crew members; the Gay Option isn't limited to a single romance scene.

One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderI'm not aware of any non-H games that have transsexual characters.
Final Fight, by Word of God.
Video Game Census. Please contribute.Birdo Vivian that bean prince and Daisy.
With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill. She's a succubus...this could apply to pretty much all succubus characters in all games...
Also, for Lesbian...the majority of the girls in Touhou?

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Admittedly, I've never the Super Star Saga games, but mind elaborating? I going to assume he's a flamboyant prince?
Also, I know Daisy's a tomboy, but that doesn't mean she's a lesbian/bisexual.
Birdo and Vivian changed genders because of various localization shenanigans. I don't think that counts.

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Revolver Ocelot was pretty gay for Big Boss. Then again, every guy is gay for Big Boss.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person. They're closer to Asexual.
Venom from Guilty Gear is homosexual. Poison from Final Fight is transexual.
Yubel from Yu Gi Oh GX is definately a...........transexual/homosexual?
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."That's an anime. An anime that has video games about it, but still an anime.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!The TC never laid down any ground rules...anyways, he/she is definately playable in the video games based on the show/card games.

Regardless, it's an anime character first and foremost, and thus belongs on the Anime/Manga board.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!I think the Fable series allows you to be gay, but only if you conciously try to romance with background NP Cs.
The basic problem is that people tend to view straight as the norm, and there's still this annoying habit to class same-sex romance as "edgy" or mature, even if it's purely romance and no actual sexualness is suggested.
In Fable, the NPC's have their own sexualities, too. For example, a gay man won't fall in love with a female PC but a bisexual woman will.

As the title above shows, I would like to talk about these four types of characters in video games.
So, I have question that I would like to pose: what was the first game to feature any of these four types of characters and when did that game come out?
I can think up some instances, like The Orion Conspiracy (1995), Phantasmagoria A Puzzle Of Flesh (1996), and Fear Effect Retro Helix (2001). There had to be some examples before these, right?
