Thanks for the the suggestions, guys, though I already had a lot of those titles in mind. Also, we have a PS 4 so I was thinking of grabbing some of those titles for that even if they are a little more pricey. I'm mainly seeking games or versions of games that you can only play on the Vita.
Out of those titles I'm leaning more towards Muramasa as my next game followed by either Danganronpa or Tales. Tales I'm a bit more iffy on due to the lack of a dub and being used to the particulars of the console localizations.
Muramasa isn't dubbed as well but it's still really good.
As for Tales, after playing it I don't know if I could ever play a dubbed version. Most of the voices are so spot on and unique that I don't think anyone could match it, especially Chal, Beryl and Hisui.
Well, Muramasa doesn't have previous games in a series to compare to. I typically really like the casts in Tales dubs and they've always been part of the charm for me.
I am pretty much the same there, even though Symphonia had the dual audio option I still never touched it. Hearts R is umm different, I guess it's because there wasn't a dub to play first to get attached to, the cameo battle from Graces was odd though since it wasn't dubbed.
Hiroshi Kamiya playing the Sixth Ranger certainly helped a lot though.

...So my pre-owned Vita had a broken game card slot. I replaced it with a brand new PCH-2000 model but at the expense of my copy of Persona 4 Golden. Had to buy a new copy, lol.
It's nice having a fresh new device and I actually prefer the overall look and feel of the "slim" Vita even if the screen isn't quite as sharp. It's much more comfortable for me to hold during extended play periods and the extra battery life is a boon.
As for Persona 4, holy shit is this game overwhelming at times. I love the urban feel of it and the Life/Dating sim elements but I'm already getting stressed out on juggling Social Links and dungeon crawling.
What. They're supposed to check to make sure there's no damage and all that. =.=
Yeah, so imagine my surprise.
Also, Persona 4 is totally a dating sim. I'm enjoying these slice of life elements so much that I'm actually kinda dreading when the dungeon crawling comes back to the forefront, lol.
Yeah, that's usually the case in the Persona games.
It's also the main reason I don't really like it, because I'm kind of a perfectionist and want to get everything in one run, so I need a guide.
And I don't want to have to follow a guide on my first run. ._.
Also, people really exaggerate the "downgrade" of the PCH-2000's screen to the PCH-1000. Not only do the colors on this thing look more accurate and less blown out, but I've also read that people have been noticing visual details that they didn't notice before because of the over-saturation and softness of the 1000's OLED screen.
Kind of disappointing, seeing as I just got a Vita yesterday, but most of the games I'm interested in are already out at the moment, and I can't think of too many first party games that Sony develops that I really play, so I guess it's not a huge loss.
If I knew alternate colors were going to be released, I would've waited longer to get one.
Ugh really? That is not something you should ever say let alone do, that just killed pretty much any future sales for the platform.
Starting to wind down on Persona 4 Golden and I've hit a wall with one of the bosses so I downloaded Muramasa: Rebirth. First Vanillaware game and hot damn, is this game pretty. I've only gotten up to the first check-point but I really like the way it plays.
I also picked up Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational and downloaded Gravity Rush because they're cheap. Enjoying those as well. Kat is love.

I'm not sure what to make of this...
On another note, I bought a used Vita TV recently, and I like it quite a bit (the DualShock 4's touch pad has done a decent job at translating the Vita's touch controls). Mostly been playing Person 4 on it, but I'm about to give Danganronpa a shot just to see how it looks on a bigger screen.
Trying to platinum Yoru no Nai Kuni/Nights of Azure while waiting for my copy of God Eater Resurrection to get here.
Those are some stupid trophies. I don't really mind the "Complete 300 quests" trophy. It's a little grindy, but since you'll be doing lots of grinding for items and exp anyway, it's fine. What I find irritating are "Summon familiars 1000 times in battle" and "Recruit 80 familiars". Note that there are only about 20 different familiars, which means you'll have to recruit the same kind of familiars multiple times just to get the trophy. Unless you have no idea what you're doing, or just don't care about min-maxing, you'll only need 2 or 3 of a few choice familiars to perfect your party. On top of that, it doesn't look like there's unlimited space in your barracks (for lack of a better word), so you'll have to recruit and then kick them out. And the items used for recruitment can also be fed to existing familiars to raise specific stats, so the min-maxer's going to be in for a crapton of grinding.

$20... $20 to play basically any Vita game
(plus the cost of memory cards)
So who else is excited for Atelier Escha and Logy Plus? It's coming out in the West next week!
I just recently finished Atelier Ayesha Plus and was utterly charmed by that game from start to finish, so I preordered the sequel a short while ago. I actually bought and downloaded Ayesha when it went on sale because the overall look of E+L intrigued me so much and I wanted to get the full context of the "Dusk" trilogy.
I'm also greatly looking forward to Atelier Shallie Plus with the glorious return of an older Ayesha!
I'm mostly interested because of how they decided to actually play into the shipping. Also, because this release will likely clean up the localization mess the PS 3 version was, like what happened with Ar nosurge.
Just got an e-mail encouraging me to pre-order this thing because of its limited physical run (NISA is probably the only one I'll pre-order from anyway).
Is it good? What sort of JRPG experience can I expect?
Well first off, NISA is only helping distribute the limited physical run, they have no hand in the actual development. As for the game itself, I wrote this about the PS3 version. If Ar nosurge was any indication, a lot of the translation issues will be fixed for the Vita release. (Ar nosurge was so bad that they had to put out a translation-fixing patch.)
PSA: Do not update your vita to firmware 3.57. Seems the new update messes up a lot of things, including access to the PSN store, and adds a massive drain on the battery somehow (even when charging)
https://www.reddit.com/r/vita/comments/42stco/new_update_may_have_killed_my_vita/
Like half the people posting in threads about this, I've updated mine and haven't encountered any problems with the store or battery drain. The fact that the problem isn't universal might make it harder to track down and fix.
Yeah. I updated mine 3 days ago to 3.57, and downloaded a game from PSN and have left it in sleep mode since. It's still at full battery.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. Can confirm. I install these updates immediately. No issues. Downloads and battery are as normal.
I've had store issues, but those predated the patch by quite a while.
Can't forget Danganronpa and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. Great visual novel content on the system.
EDIT: awkward page-topper...
