Now we'll wait for a day or two and see that the guy is back to roleplaying AU without mentioning a thing. Would make a nice change of pace to the usual troper suicide attempt pattern.

Seriously, if I tried to worry as much as you do about every single emo kid on TV Tropes that wants to see how it would look if they attempted suicide, starts announcing it with fanfare, and gets a change of mind after ten minutes and sees that it doesn't look as fun as they thought it to be, I'd already be in a rehab under the most intensive stress therapy.

Are any tropers known to have committed suicide before?

Honestly, based on the form of suicide chosen, he is probably just looking for attention.

Still not your fault. Well... maybe. I doubt it is though, because you seem concerned.

[up][up][up]I know dozens that have announced their intentions, but none that have gone through with it.

In a legal sense you are not responsible for his actions. You have no obligation to try to help or make amends.

In a moral sense it's entirely up to you. I don't know much about you, to be honest, but it doesn't sound like you were the primary factor in his decision.

Also, as fighteer has stated previously normally when someone claims to be trying/will try to commit suicide it is normally an attention thing. As it would be far more logical to say nothing so no rescue would come.

Is Zen's facebook public? I can help track him down, if you want the help. Otherwise I would suggest keeping calm until more information is available.

Gents, I think we've given all the useful advice we can. With all due respect, I'd like it if we left this thread alone before it turns into anything we don't want. As a moderator on the wiki, I must stress that the wiki itself, just like the OP individually, has no inherent responsibility to save anyone from their own choices.

Rhyme, one other thing — while this community can provide encouragement and advice, you really should be getting it in RL. I know it's natural to jump onto a forum to express your thoughts and concerns in a certain amount of anonymity, but you need real, flesh and blood people to support you.

If you wish to come back and report on what happened, feel free, but you are under no obligation to do so. Everyone else, let's let it sleep unless more information is provided.

Apparently he'd said he'd do this as a GAMBIT TO GET ME TO PLAY BETTER! If this is true I really don't know what to say. Wow that's the worst form of trollign imaginable.

See. Nothing to stress about. Just awkwardness. Make sure to make fun of him for the rest of his internet days about this.

Please.

You know his whereabouts. Track him down and kill the asshole for his insolence.

That's really fucking rude. I would reconsider gaming with someone who plays those kinds of jokes.

Its not even like I was doing that badly. Just minor mistakes.

But there's still an infitesmal chance he's serious. But seriously he accused ME of being a troll.

@Fighteer: I would reconsider allowing someone to exist on our forums who does something so "rude".

I would ban him too, but it seems that he didn't break any rules, so there's no ground for that.

The main rule is "Don't be a dick" so I would leave banning or not to the mods.

Only if it spills over into the forums. We can't ban just because someone acted like a douchebag; that would set a dangerous precedent. Much though I might like to under the circumstances.

Is everyone okay with me locking this thread?

I think it's more important that he understands the level of distress he caused so that he acts with more consideration in the future, regardless of whether any punishment is dealt out or not.

Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.

Maybe we should clog his mailbox with messages criticizing his behavior. Other than that, this thread may be locked.
