Hmm... I just found a person desperate for cheap server hosting. He is a rich Team Fortress 2 trader with many Unusuals in need of a server so he can host an Unusual Trade Server. I'm thinking I can work a deal out with him so that he can use my server (The one I host from home, the one that is pretty much free) in exchange for items.
Sounds spiffy!
:smug:Good luck to ye!
The sad, REAL American dichotomyGo for it, Morg.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelMorg is BUSINESSMAN!
The Great Northern Threadkill.Few tips for tomorrow.
- Scout
- Try to stay with demoman for the midfight. Cover him from the other scout and go to pick once other classes reach mid.
- Soldier
- Use the crates for the midfight. Rocket jump on top of the crates, grab the health and rain rockets on the enemy. Crates are seriously really good.
- Pyro
- Stay around the medic. Your primary goal is not offense, but to protect the medic and the pocket from the spy, scout and anything else that comes to pick the medic. Use airblast liberally.
- Heavy
- Stay with medic. Shoot everything
- Engineer
- Dispenser behind the crates. Minisent it up. Try to get teleporter up too.
- Medic
- We need proper heal order at the start. First is demo. Full overheal, then he sticky jumps closer to entrance, and continue healing him until he's full health again. Then heal soldiers, then scouts, then everyone else.
- Sniper
- Take this spot◊ here in the midfight if we're Red. If we're Blue, take the corresponding point on the other side. Try to pick the heavy while he comes in and anyone else.
- Spy
- No tips in particular really.
I'll try to be calling out when to hold and when to go. Generally, we push when we are at a player advantage or have an uber.
So, take the OPPOSITE crate stack?
:smug:Instead of rocket jumping to the crates, can't the soldier get to them from the catwalks? Or is he to slow?
I think that a Heavy with GRU can also make it to the top of the crates. Attacking from there can give us an advantage.

Yep, opposite crate stack. From there, it's an easy angle shot. All the enemies will be streaming in from the far entrance except maybe the scout, but he'll be coming in earlier than sniper anyway.
Heavy should stay on the ground. Would take too long to get on the crates and it's not too much better than staying on the ground for heavy. For soldier, getting on the crates with rocket jump is so much faster and there's a healthpack up there anyway.

Not to mention being in the open like that gives the Heavy (i.e. me) a wider range, but also a wider vulnerability.
For that matter, it's important that the Soldier kills or at least messes up the Sniper if he tries to do what you recommend our Sniper does so he can't pick the Heavy, Medic, or Demo.
Indeed.
Since I'll be playing demo this time, I'll be trying to control the central area with stickies. If I get the opportunity though, I'll try to sticky jump to their ramp and lob grenades from there.
I had forgotten you were playing demo.
I will go CC and solem vow.
When pushing to the second point, let's not forget that there is a passage from the second point to the entrance of the garage (going second point to middle) where they can ambush us.
Hey Joaqs, little tip for this map. Look up. There's so much height available for sollies and demomen to ambush/spam at you it's not even funny.
Also, if during rollout you and the heavy take the left path, DO NOT go into mid, stay back inside the hallway. Chances are, there will be both the solly and the demo already on the crates who will spam the hell out of that little corner.

So... You want me to play sniper, or should I get back to solly (at this point of non-practice, I am probably better sniper than soldier)
Has a compulsive editing and re-editing disorder.Well in that case I'll gladly swap with you. Since I'll be away from the medic as Solly, would Gunboats/Black Box/qualizer work?
:smug:Okay, I will pay attention up. For the rollout I think the overheal order should be, Demo>Scout>soldier>everyone else.
Go Demo, Soldier, Scout. Demo and Soldier need it to sticky/rocket jump to mid, where as Scout can just run as fast as them. By the time a Scout reaches mid, the over heal is just slightly above normal health.

The most important part of the match is staying together. If the enemy wiped most of us out and are finishing a cap, we do not charge in one by one to try and stop them. We conceded the point and regroup at the next location. STICK TOGETHER. We may end up staying together in one place until we finish uber. That's when we push. Don't go off on your own unless you're spy, or sometimes scout.
So, I was contemplating strategies as Spy for the match, and I came up with one I really like and I want some feedback on it.
First, however, my Loadout:
- Revolver/Ambassador (It will really depend on my mood during the match, sometimes I can score pro headshots and other times I can barely bodyshot a Heavy)
- Knife
- Dead Ringer/Invis Watch (I will alternate throughout the match to keep em on their toes)
Anyway, my plan is to disguise as a friendly Medic, stay near the combat classes, have my disguise hold the Medigun ect. I will try to stay away from you, Joaqs, so don't heal me and please don't be seen near me at this time.
Then, when somebody starts spamming me, I pull out the good old Dead Ringer and make them believe they killed our Medic. The plan is to make them start a push prematurely, thinking the Medic is down.
Could work but our medic should usually be on the frontlines and clearly visible.
Maybe just keep the medic disguise as you're crossing over to their side of the map, and if you happen to be attacked, DR and proceed as planned. That way, there's no downside to disguising as med.
I just want to point out to anyone who hasn't realized it yet that this is going to be our last game this season.
Yes it will be our last game for the season but we have time to improve before the next season begins.
Since 9:30 seems to be the time we're all free, want to hold practices then every week after this?
I'm doubt I'll be rejoining next season, but I might be able to help with practice.
Try to make the server so that people can end on it with the quick play option?
