Categorizing Seiyuu based on era

You know, I was thinking to improve the Names To Know In Anime section of seiyuus and recent seiyuus. So I was thinking that I want to categorize the seiyuus based on era. No, not the 1st to 3rd seiyuu booms, but based on certain times of anime. The categorizations are as follows:

• Old School Era: These seiyuus tend to appear in anime from the 70s to 80s. Most of them are right now old, but sometimes can be active. Dragon Ball can be included here
  • Examples: Akira Kamiya, Toshio Furukawa, Keaton Yamada, Tohru Furuya, Hirotaka Suzuoki, Shozo Iizuka, Masako Nozawa, Ryo Horikawa, Kenji Utsumi
• Toonami Era: These seiyuus are the ones whose names started to get known during the times anime enter the West. Mostly from Sailor Moon to Cowboy Bebop to Gundam Wing to Inu Yasha to Slayers. This is also where Neon Genesis Evangelion goes in.
  • Examples: Megumi Hayashibara, Takehito Koyasu, Hikaru Midorikawa, Kikuko Inoue, Tomokazu Seki, Nobutoshi Canna, Nobuyuki Hiyama, Megumi Ogata, Aya Hisakawa, Ryotaro Okiayu, Satsuki Yukino, Omi Minami.
• SEED era: New seiyuus seems to get more attention during the boom of Gundam SEED. Combined with popular anime like Full Metal Alchemist, and some of the now known Shonen series like Naruto and Bleach this is where a new era of seiyuus began.
  • Examples: Soichiro Hoshi, Akira Ishida (Yes, despite being a star in Evangelion, I'd say Athrun is where he gets his name known worldwide), Kenichi Suzumura, Rie Tanaka, Romi Paku, Rie Kugimiya, Masakazu Morita, Fumiko Orikasa, Noriaki Sugiyama, Nana Mizuki (ditto with Akira Ishida. Hinata and Colette was enough to make her known before Fate)
• Haruhi era: The boom of Haruhi Suzumiya was also marking another era of new seiyuus. Other series to include new known talents from here includes Death Note, Code Geass, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Lyrical Nanoha and eventually Gundam 00. Also, it's also the start of Visual Novel-turned-anime, which includes some like those involved in Fate Stay Night
  • Examples: Aya Hirano, Tomokazu Sugita, Minori Chihara, Yuko Goto, Mamoru Miyano, Tetsuya Kakihara, Yukari Tamura, Kana Ueda, Kaori Shimizu (Ditto with Akira Ishida and Nana Mizuki. It was her role as Signum which makes people took more attention at her), Jun Fukuyama, Ami Koshimizu, Mamiko Noto, Junichi Suwabe, Hiroshi Kamiya, Sayaka Ohara, Marina Inoue, Chiwa Saitou
  • To note: While seiyuus like Takahiro Sakurai and Katsuyuki Konishi gained their biggest fame here (as Suzaku and Kamina respectively), they're not here, but somewhere around the SEED era.
• K-On era (present): Somewhere around K-On there's been a boom within female seiyuus mostly, based on moe performances. Male seiyuus are less known, but there were also some. Also within this era, more visual novels got adapted into anime thus there's been some VN seiyuus branching out to anime and makes themselves more known.
  • Examples: Yoko Hikasa, Aki Toyosaki, Ayana Taketatsu, Minako Kotobuki, Eri Kitamura, Asami Imai, Chiaki Takahashi, Hiromi Hirata, Mai Aizawa, Aoi Yuki, Kanae Ito, Go Inoue, Yuuichi Nakamura, Takashi Kondo

Anybody can help add up or fix where I got the categorization wrong?

The names are very very bad. And why not just go all out and create a History Of Anime page then sort this. (The old thread died on it [1])

Well this isn't speaking of the anime, but the seiyuus. I just kinda think that for some reason the categorization was a bit different. When Code Geass was booming, Jun Fukuyama was not that much known, but after that, he started appearing here and there and when Soichiro Hoshi entered as Gino, he's already considered a senior, while back then in Gundam SEED, he's probably a junior like Jun Fukuyama.

And by the way, if we go by just milleniums, the categories will still be crowded. In the other topic, I saw that one of the categories is the '2000's', by this it would include both the last 2 categories, whereas right now I don't think you'd call Tomokazu Sugita the most recent again.

I like this idea very much.

We'll be needing a new era soon, with peeps like Ogura Yui, Hidaka Rina, Touyama Nao and whoever voiced Touwa Erio being really young and all (all of them are rookies save Hidaka Rina who voiced Last Order).

personally i will go by decades
and put their Star-Making Role beside their name

Well if we go by decades, you'd consider Jun Fukuyama and Tetsuya Kakihara 'new', while there are SOME who are newer than them, in particular the K-On cast. I was thinking into naming into the anime that caused a big BOOM with some not-so-famous seiyuus as cast. For instance, who the hell gave a big care of Soichiro Hoshi BEFORE Gundam SEED comes in? Who gave a big care to Tomokazu Sugita before there was Haruhi Suzumiya?

But I'm all ears for your proposition of decade categorizing name.

My face when Norio Wakamoto is nowhere to be found.

Uh he'd probably be at the 2nd era.

i do not mean changing the categories completely
just the names itself
i think the ordering is good
but picky people like me will complain about a Neon Genesis Evangelion, Puella Magi Madoka Magica era
and so on

Again, I do not think such was the case. The 2000's era needs to be split, because during the time of Haruhi Suzumiya, it had to compete with 'Magnificent Bastard shows' such as Death Note and Code Geass, and they are not Moe and Slice of Life. Only after K-On can we call Moe Slice of Life era, since we're lacking notorious Death Note / Code Geass style anime.

^ Steins Gate comes pretty damn close to Darker and Edgier.

The eras are getting smaller and smaller, it appears....

Also, where would Daisuke Ono fit?
