You attach them to paypal the same way you would with a credit card.
The downside is that you can't transfer money onto them, only out of them.
Be not afraid...Hmmm, I'll have to try it.
"I wish I could write as mysteriously as a cat." —Edgar Allen PoeSome cards allow you to reload them. Look on the sheet that holds the card—it should say if it's reloadable or not.
In other news: I'm probably going to set us up on that Rocket website, but. It does charge a small portion of the money you make, so we would need to do slightly better than our goal to make ends meet.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaIsn't it possible to just send it all through Paypal directly to the artist?
Yes, the issue is whether the artist would accept that and us being able to keep track of how much money was sent.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? We could ask him if that will work. Shouldn't be too hard to keep track of.
If I can find a way, I'll contribute. I'll pledge at least $30.
What's the point in giving up when you know you'll never stop anyway?Once you set this up, I might be able to throw ten or twenty bucks in.
I'd like to contribute more, but all productivity bonuses (which make 20% of my pay) are suspended until the company makes a profit again. That means at least two more months of being broke: They are back into profitability, but they'll keep their covert pay cut until next quarter.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.If you need any further denarii, I should be able to field something. Just tell me where to pay.
What's precedent ever done for us?Thanks, y'all.
Unfortunately, I did some digging into Rockethub, and while it is very nearly perfect, there is one small problem: It requires you to give out rewards to your donators.
So, I pose this question to you all:
1. Are you comfortable with transfering money to a random stranger (AKA me)'s Paypal? While I can promise you I'm not out to hoodwink you, I can understand if you're not comfortable with that.
2. If I do open up an account on Rockethub, are you OK with having to wait a little while for your reward? If I do go that route, I will, in fact, reward donators. I'm not a great artist, but I can draw you some halfway-decent pictures, or, if you'd prefer to exploit my actual talents, I can write you some small things. But it might take a little while.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI'd prefer to send it directly to the artist. Have you gotten in contact with him yet, and if so, have you asked whether it'd work for all of us to send the money separately through Paypal?
... how do they enforce this 'reward' business? I'm fine with not getting one, and it's safe to say everyone here is too, I think.
Be not afraid...I can definitely wait on a reward, I don't even really need one but if it's required then take as much time as you need. The Rockethub thing might be better seeing as how there are a couple underage donators and having us send it through paypal might be tricky.
"I wish I could write as mysteriously as a cat." —Edgar Allen PoeJust had a look on Rockethub. The fueling thing, you mean? That'd be nice, but I'm fine with waiting.
What's the point in giving up when you know you'll never stop anyway?Count me in! We're getting a big job at work, so I'll be pulling in overtime. Sign me up for $50. My reward can be a reminder PM saying "Time to pay up, bitch."
i. hear. a. sound. From what I've looked into with Rockethub, it is possible to access the funds directly and use them (if I'm reading it right, though there also appears to be some other option). So I think it'd be possible to do with paypal.
Honestly I'm leaning more towards Paypal now, but again, I want to know people are OK with it and sending stuff to me.
Re: contact with the artist: I haven't yet. I don't want to do so until we know for sure how we'll be paying. Call me stupid, but I don't want to feel like I'm wasting his time; thus I'm saving contact and request until I know for sure how we'll be doing this.
...Sorry for taking so long in this, but I'm really particular about this sort of thing.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaNothing wrong with being careful. Better to do that than annoy the guy and get a crap song out of it.
i. hear. a. sound.Well thank you for endorsing my paranoia.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaAny time. Bur, Professional Enabler. Here's my card.
i. hear. a. sound.I don't have any money to contribute to this (unfortunately), but my emotional investment in D Jay's situation demands I contribute SOMETHING...
Does this custom-music guy do his own CD graphics? If not, I could maybe contribute by making the CD jacket graphics...?
I'm not exactly sure what I can do, but I'd certainly like to contribute a nice thing connected to this one (besides the one I'm already doing for him).
It's better to be right than liked. Really. I Just Want to Be LovedActually... a picture to go with would be beautiful.
Anyway: I have decided on Paypal. I think I'll actually set it up with a prepaid card instead of my personal bank account, because that (hopefully) looks less abusable. As soon as it is set up, y'all will know.

Huh, I wonder if gift cards exist in my country. I mean, obviously they should, but I've never even heard of them. Debit cards are the closest I've heard. I'll see if I can find anything.
