What If? Earth never existed in the Mass Effect universe, and the twelve colonies of Kobol took its place. My idea was to follow the story of Mass Effect (more or less) but with Colonials instead of the Systems Alliance. (kinda like Renegade, but with Battlestars.

Cannon BSG characters would appear alongside cannon Mass Effect Characters.

For Example: Colonel Shepherd is still the XO of the Normandy, but Commander Adama is the commander. (where's Colonel Tigh? you ask, he took a job at C-sec)

The Normandy still exists. But, she's bigger and badder. Instead of a frigate, she's a small Battlestar.

Finally, Colonial tech uses a species of mass-effect systems to lighten their ships and allow for more dramatic maneuvering as seen on the show. However, the Colonials didn't have access to pure Element Zero, and had to make do with a less potent isotope. As for the difference in FTL drives, Colonial drives are faster, but have a harder time interfacing with Mass-Relays.

So, what do you think? EDIT: In this story it is assumed the Cylons never attacked again, due to the threat of reprisal from the other Citadel races.

You're obviously crazy, because Stargate is clearly far better than BSG. trololol :p

I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.

Yep! But on a more levelheaded note, it really depends on which fanbase you're trying to cater to more. Both series are noted sci fi space operas and all that. "Insane" would possibly be something more like "Dragon Age/BSG" but by "insane" there I quite possibly mean "insanely awesome". Now I'm just trailing off.

In a word: no. You aren't insane. I say, go ahead, and have fun!
