I do that too, but I like having the whole thing land so it's reusable.

I just had the most photogenic crash ever

And am launching my first mission to Tylo, does it have any atmosphere? Is the escape volicoty high?

I am trying to find out if its a one way trip for my skycrane, or if I can recover, it will determine weather or not I top off the tank in my massive interplanetary ship.

[up] Well at least the nose cleanly broke off. XD

It's got something like 90% of Kerbin's gravity, but no atmosphere.

Does any one here have experiance with infernal robotics?

I am using FAR, and want to send another plane to Eve, this one bigger, the one that crashed up there already caused launch issues with its massive fairing sitting ontop of the rocket.

And I want to make a swing wing desing.

[up][up] Check out Scott Manley's latest vids. He tried building a swing-wing plane as well.

It turned into a bike when he tried to land it. [lol]

I recommend the KW Rocketry fairings, because FAIRINGS.

I prefer procedural fairings. Less restrictive.

I also use procedural, because of that.

I like the fixed fairings. Forces you to think outside the box.

Some would argue it actually forces you to think inside the box. wink

I mostly use vanilla parts, so no fairings for me. Well, except the vanilla stacked engine fairings.

Well, this is interesting. An attempt to land on Minmus has turned into a voyage to interplanetary space. Fortunately, it'll only take around 200 m/s to get an encounter with Kerbin, and all this interplanetary science can only be a good thing.

do you have enough fuel for that encounter?

Been trying to get Infernal Robotics to work. I have my suspicions that B9 might have had something to do with the crashes, which would be a shame.

There is a thing in the B9 download labled reduced textures, you need to use that if you plan on using B9 with other mods, since it pushes so close to the memory cap on its own.

I dont have B9 with me to give more details sorry. >.<

Always wondered how that file worked...

I also just realized how empty the VAB and SPH look without B9.

One of the reasons why I ditched B9 - it's a glorious modpack, probably the best I've played with. But it's just too massive. On hindsight, I should have merely pruned the parts to only the ones I commonly used, instead of getting rid of the entire pack.

AIES manages to do the high-tech look that B9 does, but with less bloat - but I'm running all stock right now in anticipation of .235: SOON.

Its near imposible to prune B9, I tried, and it does not work, hence why I ditched it.

Oh, the file size is large too of course, but the actual part... they're massive! I mean, there's some pretty parts in there, but they do dwarf pretty much all the stock stuff.

that does kinda fit the futuristic look though, have you ever seen a modren jet compared to some older aircraft?
