Poor Wonder Woman just can't catch a break. I also didn't expect this fight to be in 3D; seems like an awful lot of work for a 1-minute fight.

I'm pretty sure I remember them mentioning that OMM is usually a way for them to test their animating chops while also providing content, so practicing in 3D makes sense given the number of 3D fights there have been.

Isn't Wonder Woman currently the Goddess of War?

Lightning is the Goddess of Death by the end of Lightning Returns.

Actually her boss wants her to be the new Goddess of Death for the new world he has created and serve him since the first one died and Lightning has grown much more powerful than her. She says no because he's a dick and defeats him(the only "real" God of the verse since he actually made all the others, his title is God of Light(in japanese version he's just God))pretty much all on her own while he throws out the ultimate attacks of other godlike beings from FF games as normal attacks(Almagest, Starfall, Heartless Angel, Hypernova(way stronger and faster version of the VII attack that actually destroys more than a planet or two), Dancing Mad, Doom etc)and destroys and creates new planets at the same time. In the end she takes humanity to the new world and can live a normal life.

Wondy is an actually divine version of Supes. She'd probably win against 99% of all gods in fiction.

You know, people do call me "Wondy". Some even used to think I was female.

I recall reading that characters in Japanese games coming across as "[planks] of wood" is due to the Japanese culture placing greater emphasis on stoicism as a sign that a person or character is tough. I remember the article being about Yoshio Sakamoto's direction of Samus' English VA in Other M.

That said, it's just a One Minute Melee with no research beyond what the animators know off the tops of their heads. Obviously they didn't know much about Wonder Woman aside from the fact that she can deflect bullets with her bracelets. At least they gave her her sword... which she can summon multiple copies of for some reason.

While OMM has a no-research policy, I'd highly disagree that Lightning wins on the logic that she's a "goddess of death" - and if you really want to follow that through, she ends up depowered by the end of the game.
