I'd expand it to include movies that spend 8 months or more on the conversion, as not to weed out 3D-conversions that are actually awesome, like The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D, or the Toy Story double feature.
Will never happen. Hollywood is going to run 3D into the ground. And then when the market for 3D films collapses, they'll blame it on "the consumers not being ready for 3D", not on their own abusive marketing.

Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.It's not a snobbery if it prevents headaches, wearing two glasses as once, and spending less on a movie ticket.
Actually I am not affected by those. Lower price would be nice, of course.

You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans. No, we don't need regulations on such things. How would such a system even work?
Truth-in-advertising?
Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.I think 3D, in general, would be better off if they didn't produce a whole glut of movies with really bad gimmicky 3D, but then again, let's not lie, 3D cinema probably never was about the artistic achievements one might manage with the technology. As far as I know, 3D movies still makes a mint, so there's really no reason to reel it in before the whole thing comes crashing down in a torrent of migraines and dispassionate viewers.
Liveblog | DeadblogSomeone needs to create a 3D system that has 0% risk of migraine regardless of individual predisposition.
Holographic TV is slated for release at the end of 2012.
Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.WHAT?
How would that even work?
@OP: I would personally love to see that. Sadly I don't see how such a law could be passed. Maybe if they mandated that both versions of a movie must be available for the benefit of people who don't enjoy 3D.

I imagine you just plug a box in and the action from above the box.

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?South Korea currently has 4D theaters, and the company that makes them plans to bring them stateside. How do you think 3D would be affected if those became common?
Looking for some stories?i personally do not want my beautiful body to be splashed with water
we will also see movies with terrible 4d as if The Last Airbender didn't teach us anythin
4d movies should stay in theme parks imho
i dont think 3d movies will be affected much because of how stupid 4d movies are

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?I see what you're saying. I dislike it when movies shot in a normal format, have to get converted to 3D later on. It's usually pretty badly done. A movie like Avatar for instance, was shot and designed in 3D and know how to make good use of it (though, 3 hours of straight up 3D in the second to the front, didn't sit so well with me).
However, putting regulations on movies like that seems like it would be pretty hard to keep around. If someone thinks they need to muck around with formatting, well, that's their decision. It's really the audience who can choose to go see it that way or not.
there is some difficulty in watching just 2d films
it is becoming a bit uncommon

Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.^^Most times I've seen 3D films, there's a 2D version, though.
it is becoming a trend
new movie trailers often say nowadays
"2D in only selected theaters"
This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?Oh, really? I never noticed that. Weird.
3D is not as useless a gimmick as HD, USA regulates HD so why not Hollywood?
Modified Ura-nage, Torture Rack
I just would like to see a 3D regulation system: only films filmed with 3D cameras, like Avatar, should be allowed to released in 3D theatres.
I know that it's more of a snobbery than anything, but it just fucking pisses me off to see movies that are released in 3D just to get more ticket revenue and nothing else, like latest Resident Evil or Green Hornet film.
I know that the audiences have a choice to not to watch that. It's just that I personally see much potential in 3D films and worthless pieces of clusterfucks ruining the reputation of 3D technology, although even without them there are criticisms on their on, is really frustrating to me.
