Well you never know until you try. Give it a shot, and if it doesn't turn out that great, just try something else. No-one will fault you for at least trying.
And I know it's cliched, but it's better to regret something you have done than something you haven't done. It's a cliche for a reason, after all.

Word of advice from someone who's trying something similar: come up with an idea first, and then build the webcomic around it. Don't build your idea around the medium - that's how you get Generic Two Gamers on a Couch Comic #972. Also, unless you write Sonichu, nobody's going to rip it apart - they just won't read it. So, do you have an idea?
