Not a genre : Shonen Genre

Then perhaps we should have a Shōnen Genre redirect to Shonen Fighter since that is what the term Shōnen Genre is used to mean by fans.

Meanwhile, this trope describes the correct use as a demographic and so should be called Shōnen Demographic.

Also, since when is a desire to use the actual correct and official term instead of a fan term evidence of being an obsessive otaku?

Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Edit: We don't have Shonen Fighter? DBZ, Naruto, etc? No wonder we have misuse of the term Shonen.

Also, shouldn't we make the same change for Shōjo Genre- since that's also a demographic and not a genre.

I was going to make up a YKTTW for it but I wasnt quite sure exactly what to write in the write up.

When we first started up the crowner, it was noted it would apply to all the other demographics.

How much longer until the Crowner closes? I'm curious.

I have to admit, I really prefer the page to be on Shōnen Demographic and then have it custom titled with the parenthesis. Mostly because it causes a mental parser difference.

The crowner's been up for about a week now, isn't that long enough?

I also think it would benefit if we removed the custom title from the plain "shonen" page, after making it a redirect. It just makes me think that the title shows a "you will see it written "shonen", but it's a demographic.".

Not to mention Shōnen Genre needs to be a redirect to the new page Shonen Fighter

Technicall, it's ultimately in Fast Eddie's hands, since he's the one who enforced the rename of Shonen to Shonen Genre via Custom Titles.

Because people are still debating over what else should be split off. This crowner should probably be locked though and the main page moved.

What of the other, Japanese Demographics. Will they need individual topics are will they be fixed as well.

If we get the laconic alt title thing going this could go away I think but until then probably.

I think the best result would be to put the main page on Shōnen Demographic, turn Shonen into a redirect, and then custom title it to Shonen (Demographic) but leave Shonen un-custom titled. The way the parathensis work should help people parse it as "this is what it means, but no-one uses the term this way".
