I was hoping for another wonderful mind-frag and that's exactly what the second episode delivered. As a side-note, it could just be my inner fanboy messing with me, but those twirling stands in the lingerie shop seemed to resemble a certain, iconic spiral staircase.

In any case, this has quickly become my favorite series of the season.

I love fate, indeed. Great episode! Teacher being stalked by Little Miss Just As Planned who is in turn being stalked by two brothers via webcam- and radio-equipped invisible penguins so that they can find the Penguin Drum and save their sister from a soul-possessing hat.

Again, stealth penguins. How can I not love this show?

Wasn't Mirai Nikki supposed to come out until the fall season? And I don't remember there being any penguins on the manga.

Seriously now, this is pretty interesting, and I like how they just sparkled a normal Slice of Life setting with a few supernatural elements. However, it feels a bit over-the-top at times, specially anytime the penguin hat comes into play.

I like how Ringo turned out to be a creepy Stalker with a Crush, and I'm intrigued by that Future dairy of hers, so hopefully it can keep up this level for ne next 22 episodes.

But the best part of this show are definitely the penguins. 1 is a huge pervert, 2 is just clueless as hell, and 3 is just adorable, but they are totally awesome.

... They're penguins. I'm not entirely sure that concept even applies to penguins.

Well, I would have agreed if the penguin had just used the panties on his head, but considering how he was looking for the penguin drum between Ringo's legs, and that he was constantly looking under her skirt, plus I think he blushed at some time, I would say that it could apply.

No, the last few episodes of the Utena TV series and most of the movie are a trip. This is just the warm up act.

The last few episodes and the movie of Utena were gorgeous so here's hoping there's a positive correlation between trippiness and prettiness.

So, if you know where to look, the are spoilers for the novel going around - the novel apparently being equivalent to not quite half-way into the series.

Which means I know enough to ID who most of the OP characters are, but not enough to have any idea where the story is actually going.

Well, from what I've heard the Ikuhara has been working on the script for ages, so it may be a case of it being planned as an anime first but the novel adaptation beat it to release.

ETA: Also, I quite like that original version of the rock cover. More than the J-Pop version in the show, actually.

From what I've heard, there will be three novels and the anime will diverge from them more and more as they go on. The first novel has nine chapters and, since we seem to be going at the pace of one chapter=one episode, there are now spoilers up to episode nine floating around.

I think it's the other way around actually, especially since the anime is going to diverge from the novels the farther down the line.
