I for one actually liked the ending. I feel that it's perfectly acceptable to have any sort of age gap between two people in a relationship, so long as they are able to have a real relationship. That being said, 9 times out of 10 it's an old guy using his money to get into bed with the 18-year-old-girl, or a girl who is emotionally immature and has an old-guy-crush that the man takes advantage of (there can be young-guy/old lady pairings as well but not quite as often and for different reasons). Either way they are only in it for the money and/or sex, and don't have a true emotional bond that is necessary in a marriage. But I feel that in this case the pairing of Daikichi and Rin is perfectly acceptable for several reasons. 1: They are not blood related (the manga obviously specifies this). 2: Rin approached Daikichi, not vice-versa. 3: Daikichi was responsible in giving Rin 2 years to make up her mind, not only for her to graduate high school and decide whether this is really a decision she wants to make, but also to give him the time to stop seeing her as a daughter and start seeing her as a woman. From what I can tell she never saw him as "dad" in the first place, that was always Daikichi's grandfather. If you can get past the YMMV squick, it seems to be a perfectly legitimate proposal.

Aw, that was adorable! I'm sad that it's over, but god damn, that was amazing. Now to read the manga before any of you assholes spoil it even more for me.
Has anyone seen the sales? I wonder what the chances are of a second season.
Read all of my fanfics!Far as I can tell the BD isn't out yet.
I've heard preorder sales on Amazon have been good.
As for the final episode, wonderfully done for undoubtedly one of the best shows of the year.
Damn. Only 11 episodes?
Hate to see it go, but love to watch it leave.
#IceBearForPresidentDon't the manga only has six or seven volumes? I'm pretty sure that eleven episodes cover a whole lot of them. Then again, JC Staff managed to make 24 (26?) episodes out of Azumanga Daioh manga, which had only four volumes.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.4koma manga like Azumanga Daioh (or K-On, or Lucky Star) are a completely different beast from regular manga as far as anime adaptations go : you get way more dialogue (and stuff happening) per page, on average. So it's relatively easy to extract more episodes per volume (especially if you add exposition shots and bridging sequences between the jokes).
Point, but six episodes per volume? Most light novels, which are almost always twice as thick as average manga pages, get those numbers per volume. Usually, an average 180 pages manga is turned into two or three episodes.

Eight. The anime covered the first four.
Huh, that's a little bit more than I thought. Eight...that's short.
STOP CONFUSING ME!

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Okay, I was mistaken, it's actually 9.
Well, that was pretty cute. Guess we didn't get to the ending, so I'll just have to go and see what's all the fuss about.
OK, I know it's bad form to doublepost, but really? Really? What the fucking hell?
How do you mean?
#IceBearForPresidentWell, I said:
If you're familiar with the ending of the manga, this would be pretty self explanatory, otherwise, it wouldn't be nice of me to spoil it.

Well I reading the manga now, so I'll find out soon enough.
#IceBearForPresidentWhy must good things in life come to an end? ;_;
Loved you Bunny Drop. You were the most adorable thing that I've had the pleasure of watching in some time.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Short and sweet. And also I liked Rin's final 'cat-teeth' photo at the end, she looks so cute :3
In an anime, I'll be the Tsundere Dark Magical Girl who likes purple MY own profile is actually HERE!Finished the manga. Man that last half did not work as well as the first.
Usagi Drop is finally getting a license! ...By NISA. Which means no dub.

I need to vent.
Usagi Drop was one of my favorite anime series of all time. It was so incredibly heartwarming and sweet to see a relationship between an adoptive father/daughter pair grow. The two leads where just perfect and their interactions where so damn adorable. Daikichi had a very relatable attitude to me from the first episode, and his inexperience with what he set himself up for is one of the most unique and properly-executed plotlines I've ever witnessed.
Notably, I began watching it just as I was having doubts about entering my field, Early Childhood Education. It's pretty difficult being the only male in my entire class. Watching a show like this helped remind me that male role models are just as important to the development of young children as female ones are. If it weren't for this show, I might have just dropped out and done something else I just wouldn't love as much.
That said, I recently just went ahead and spoiled myself on the manga. While anyone who begins reading this post after the rest of this thread probably already knows what the problem with it is I'm still going to have the next paragraph in spoiler text both to protect people from spoiling themselves (Although I don't think it's worth defending this work anymore) and to protect their virgin ears from a large amount of profanity.
SERIOUSLY WHAT THE HOLY FLYING FUCK IS THIS THIS SHIT IS COMPLETELY RETARDED ON EVERY FUCKING LEVEL THAT COULD POSSIBLY EXIST IT'S A SHITSTAINED MOTHERFUCKING VOMIT DUMPED BLEMISH ON AN ENTIRE FUCKING INDUSTRY BECAUSE IT RE-FUCKING-DEFINES CREEPY FUCKING EVERYTHING A FUCKING PLOT TWIST LIKE THAT FOR A SERIES LIKE THIS COULD ONLY BE FUCKING THOUGHT UP BY BRAINDEAD FREAK WITH THE MOST UNHEALTHY OUTLOOK ON WHAT A REAL FUCKING RELATIONSHIP COULD LOOK LIKE IT'S NOT FUCKING FUNNY AND I HOPE YUMI UNITA DIES IN A FUCKING FIRE AND HER ENTIRE FUCKING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS GET TRANSFERRED TO A WRITER THAT DOES NOT HAVE A FUCKING MALIGNANT TUMOR WHERE HIS OR HER FUCKING BRAIN IS BECAUSE THE END TO THIS STORY IS THE MOST FUCKING OFFENSIVE THING I HAVE EVER FUCKING HEARD ABOUT FROM SOMETHING I LOVED THE WHOLE FUCKING TWIST SETS THE WHOLE MEDIUM BACK A FUCKING CENTURY AND ANYONE WHO ENJOYS FUCKING OVER THE WESTERMARCK EFFECT THIS FUCKING BLATANTLY IS A FUCKING ENEMY OF HEALTHY CLOSE PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS AND GIVEN HOW OFTEN THAT FUCKING HAPPENS IT IS FUCKING HARD FOR ME KEEP VIEWING THE WORLD AS ANYTHING OTHER THAN COMPLETELY FUCKED UP WHEN SOMETHING AS INNOCENT AS THE GIRL I SAW AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS ASSFUCKED SHOW GETS FUCKING FETISHIZED IN THE WORST POSSIBLE WAY
Thank you for your time. At least I still have Yotsuba.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. That doesn't make it better or worse in any possible way. It is an extremely disturbing outlook from both directions.
