My only regret in AC: Origins is that sneak attacks with the Hidden Blade should be insta-kill.
That shouldn't change.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Honestly, I can count of the fingers of one hand the number of times they didn't insta kill a guy in my playthroughs (4, all of the Phylakitai) it's so rare it's barely noticeable.
And quite honestly, a bossfight shouldn't be a ohko
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThose guys, and a handful (easily less than 6 in vanilla) of those proto Space Marine officers in some Level 3 Forts.
I always felt that Fortress difficulty was undermined because death didn't reset the officers you killed or the treasures you grabbed, encouraging suicide runs if you got caught.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Honestly most of those super officer guys I still one shotted as I tended to be overequipped or overlevelled.
Even the highest level ones? Some of those guys had more health than anything in the game, short of the Elephants or the Mummies. And this is coming from someone who obsessively upgraded gear (especially the offensive side of it) and was overleveled the entire game due to clearing side quests and locations first.
I was on Normal the entire time FWIW.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. What bugs me about when a stealth attack doesn't kill them is that Bayek goes in for the attack, he punches them instead of actually using the hidden blade. So it looks less like they shrugged off a stab wound and more like they survived because Bayek was kind of stupid.
I'll agree that the horses tend to be a little all over the place. They don't round corners very well, follow the path WAY too strictly (and, even then, I wouldn't mind if the horse were allowed to take off straight through a baren field or desert ), and I've had strange instances of Horses swerving on roads or simply 'Cannot Follow Road' for seemingly no reason.
Honestly, I never saw the use of the auto-travel horses. I got through the entire game, more or less getting 100% Completion, and barely even touched that mechanic. I barely even noticed it.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. You can have the horse carry Bayek to his destination while giving chase from Eagle View.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youAutopilot is also great when youre being chased, you can just turn around (and Bayek will ride backwards, too), and shoot your enemies in full galop.
Optimism is a duty.Unfortunately, the camera/aiming is designed to turn with the horse's movements, rather than stabelize and adjust the character as you aimed. Which, as far as I'm aware, that's usually a pretty normal thing in game design. At the very least, it would have made the Julius Caesar mission later on A LOT less frustrating.
No idea why they'd ever program it that way.
Anyway, anyone got an idea when Steam might have a sale on the series? I've been wanting to replay the series for a retrospective to beef up my writing resume, but I'm also broke as hell right now with switching apartments. College is expensive.
Just check back every weekend, you might get lucky with a Publisher sale. If not, it will definitely go on sale this Summer.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. So, anything new for this game? Anything at all?
My one wish is for a DLC that explores the heydays of Ancient Egypt, when the Pyramids were still new and all those temples still in use. Or just a Tour Mode exhibit, even.
Optimism is a duty.I believe that Origins is wrapped up, content wise.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Didn't they announce an animated series on Netflix?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Which, to be honest, is quite a lot of content already.
God this game is amazing
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youOrigins is on sale on Steam for 40% off, or 35.99. Is it worth it for that price?
If you are willing to play on PC, absolutely! I personally prefer a controller, but yes, go buy it.
Optimism is a duty. All mainstream controllers are compatible with Steam.
Origins was worth it at full price. It is absolutely worth it discounted.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youMy absolute favorite thing about this game is still the fact that if you shoot the sniper bow and activate the Arrow Cam and then go into Photo Mode right before the arrow contacts your target, you can swing the camera around and see that the arrow you shot is about eight feet long.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThe sniper bow does have its limits. Try aiming at someone far below you, and it becomes almost impossible because the camera just refuses to turn with the arrow.
Optimism is a duty.I believe the entire series is at 66% off on Steam. So I'm colecting the rest of the games rn.
If they're at that sharp an angle, save the arrow and just jump on their head.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI've finished the game and I can honestly say it's a scenario that has come up exactly 0 times.
Like, it's like saying the problem with the Predator bow is it won't destroy a German King Tiger tank, which while true, has yet to be a scenario that comes up in the game :-P
The horses in Origins are so-so, though. When on auto-pilot, they tend to careen around sharp corners very haphazardly, or avoid NP Cs by crashing through whatever is along the roadside. And the NP Cs do the same thing.
No wonder there are so few people around in Alexandria, it would be mayhem with more pedestrians/horses.
Optimism is a duty.
