Alma / Arma / Aruma: If I recall correctly, official spelling is Alma, Meaningful Name variant is "Arma" ("Weapon" or something), and "Aruma" is reserved for people who think the main character of Hellsing is spelt "Arukarudo"... or something like that.
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Heh, Alma.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel....I saw that pothole coming a mile away.
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Yup. I had to make it before anyone else did because why not.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.CLAMP probably only contributed some concept material. The artist for Sacred Seven and Code Geass is the same person for Gao Gai Gar, Betterman and Godannar.
So, after a hell of a hiatus*, it's back to Episodes 3 and 4. Did I mention how painful it gets to watch Ruri spend all that damn money?! Still, Operation Mirror Force was... amusing, even if Kagami's acting was a little cringe-worthy. Can't even ham it up properly.
Also, Kenmi: definitely evil, in case the fire / water / electricity trap operated by the resident psycho minion wasn't a big enough clue.
Now starting on Episode 5. What, you have only 12 episodes and you're going from the School Festival Episode to the Beach Episode? Seriously?
Temporary Status Update: Hmmm, that song does fit. Also:
You tell her, girl.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Okay, so I finally finished.
Honestly? The characterisation is relatively flat, and the plot contrivances don't really help. In addition, the pacing could've been improved, especially for the final battle - seriously, Alma? The time for a heartfelt declaration of your feelings is not when the Big Bad is standing in the same room in full armour. And honestly, Kenmi? You could've saved yourself a lot of trouble if you didn't waste all that time gloating.
Also, purple and green teddy bear, but I think that's been mentioned on the site before.
(The ending scenes were mildly amusing, of course - especially Knight / Naito standing on top of the radio tower and complaining that it's cold. The other unintentionally funny part was when Aiba Corp (not to be confused with Kaiba Corp) got shut down for alleged tax evasion. Of course all that spending was going to bite them in the ass sooner or later.)
Having said that, I'd like to qualify the above statements by saying that it was still fun, even if the execution was flawed - I'm partial to a bit of fluff from time to time. And episode 10 was painful to watch - while it subconsciously felt like a cheap attempt to evoke emotion, I guess it worked. All things considered, there've been worse things on TV, so I'm not complaining.
EDIT: dRoy: Wait, since when was Fei a boy?

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.I assumed that he was, because I've been watching Korean subbing and he calls Hong (I believe that's the guy that spits out fire) hyung, a pronoun that is used by male when referring to older males. Also, I think in Japanese, he used nii-san, rather than onii-san, the latter of which is used by girls.
I could be wrong, though.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. If I'm not wrong, the O- part is just formality. Fei refers to herself with "boku", which could work either way, and the other characters refer to her as "ano / sono ko", which could be "this girl" or "this child". But Feizoi (probably Cantonese - the characters correspond to Japanese kanji / Chinese for "jade") is a feminine name. So I'm just going to assume Fei's a pre-pubertal tomboy if the last episode is any indication.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation. So, there was that one-hour-long special. It have extra footage showing things from Knight's perspective. It's like watching another story, practically.
And that ending, odat hook.

I finished the series today.
Overall, I like it. Although there wasn't anything particularly original or profound about it, it was very visually pleasing and simple. I find it to be a very good series to sit back and watch without thinking very much.
Several non-connected posts:
I really like Tandoji's armor and these different modes.
Why do people keep calling him Arma/Alma? Isn't it just Aruma?
The art style reminds me of Code Geass. Given that this is a work by Sunrise, it isn't too surprising, although I certainly don't remember seeing CLAMP during the credits. Tandoji reminded me of grey haired Schnietzel.
This series had a rather odd prominence of maids. I do like maids so I shouldn't complain much, I guess.
I can't believe that Fei is a boy. I mean...really?
