I think I'd do that, but with one generic page for disambiguation/the concept of Batgirl, and the rest all on one page, sort of like the current Characters page. They are all closely related, like a single lineage, no In Name Only outliers, etc.
But frankly, I'm still uncertain and wavering about how exactly to organize this type of situation.
Jet-a-Reeno!How 'bout this (Going off what shima posted a while back):
Main/Batgirl: This will be a character page which covers all the Batgirls (Including Bette Kane and the "fake" Batgirls) with individual characters tropes and information specific to them. Similar to the current Batgirl page, but with a little more thought put into it. It will also have links to the following pages so people can know where to find them.
Comicbook/Batgirl (2000): Cassandra Cain's series with the work tropes relevant to this series. I actually have yet to read her series, except for the Beechen written ending (gah) so somebody else would need to make the page, but it would cover the tropes from her book. Her training with Lady Shiva, her friendship with the Spoiler, that ridiculous Deathstroke plot, etc.
Comicbook/Batgirl (2009): Stephanie Browns series. Same as Cass's above, we could just move the current Batgirl page there, since it's already a work page.
Comicbook/Batgirl (2011). Barbara's series, with tropes added as the series comes out.
There won't be any individual pages for Bette Kane or the "fake" Batgirls (Huntress, Misfit, etc.) since they never had their own published books. Tropes relating to them as a character (Distressed Damsel, Identity Impersonator, etc.) can go on the main Batgirl page, and work tropes (Plot events, development, etc.) should logically go on the work pages for the series they did appear in (Huntress was Batgirl in Batman No Mans Land which has a page, and Misfit was Batgirl in Birds Of Prey which also has its own page). This way we retain all the information on the various Batgirls without clogging the wiki with a dozen different pages, and we still have work pages for separate series that have their own writers/characters/plots/etc.
Thoughts?

Yes, put the main concepts of Batgirl on the Main page, put the time line and an index list of comics on the Comicbook.Batgirl page.
Fight smart, not fair.Okay, if nobody has any objections to my most recent suggestion (See two posts up) of an individual page for each separate series, a disambiguation page and main page for the Batgirl character as a whole, I'm going to make the change later today or tomorrow since we've reached the point now where Babs-bat is about to start being published.
Any last minute thoughts or corrections?
Make sure they're all on the comicbook Name Space.
Fight smart, not fair.Well, made the changes (At least, as wel as I could).
Main/Batgirl is now a disambig page to the following links:
Comicbook/Batgirl, which I just copy/pasted from the Characters/Batgirl page as the best overview of the entire history. I'll go through eventually and correct links and streamline, as it's been jumbled for a while.
Comicbook/Batgirl2000, which is a red link right now because I haven't made the page yet, but it will be Cass's series
Comicbook/Batgirl2009, which is the page for Stephanie's series which I copy/pasted from the previous Main/ page
Comicbook/Batgirl2011, which will be the page for Barbara's series.
Thoughts?
I could also use some help smoothing out the Comicbook/ page, since it was never perfect, and changing the links.

Should we do this for the rest of the Comic Book characters?
For example, X-Men would become:
- Comicbook.X-Men which would have the tropes that apply over all incarnations of the X-Men
- Comicbook.UncannyX-Men, Comicbook.X-MenLegacy, Comicbook.AstonishingX-Men, etc., which would detail the tropes that appear in those specific titles.
If so, we should start a Special Efforts thread for it.
Edit: Stupid hyphens.

This is a sinkhole.Personally, I think it should be avoided except for very special cases like this one with multiple characters under the same name. For something more amorphous and wide-ranging like X-Men, I think creating a bunch of new pages would create more confusion than anything.
Jet-a-Reeno!If you look, you'll see that X Men already has a ton of different pages. It's not well split up though, mostly by date.
Fight smart, not fair.Well, now that I've made the changes and we've got pages for each series (Except Cass's, somebody more familiar with her series will need to do that one) how do we close this thread? It still appears on the top of the Main/Batgirl page, even though the discussion is over. What's the next step?
You make a post announcing you're done, click that little triangle button on the bar above it(the "holler" button) and ask the mods to lock it since everything's finished.
EDIT: But I think we might need to keep it open from the sound of your post, unless there's something I'm unaware of(I don't read comics).

Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - CamacanNo, I believe we're done. I moved the previous Main/ page to a separate page, created an page for the new series, and made the Main/ page a disambiguation page for directions to the new pages. I believe we're all set.
I like one main as a disambig/covering all general tropes and a general timeline with each of the girls split out into her own page for the stuff specific to her title run.
