Yeah, it is. Although, with the way the anime did the Faudo arc, I almost don't mind the dub stopping there.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia! That's true, though it's really only at the point where the Faudo starts swimming that it goes totally wrong. Up to then, it'd been more or less faithful.
......
I want to know: who here forgot how many Kanchomes there were when he first cloned himself? Cause I know I did.
One Strip! One Strip! Is there any chance of an animated adaptation of the end of the manga, like, ever? I mean, Inuyasha got one and I'm pretty sure that series was already a joke punchline by then.

If it was going to happen, it would have happened already. It seems Gash Bell isn't popular enough for that.
Inuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist are one thing, but not every anime can get a chance to end right.

One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, but Inuyasha is only really remembered for the endless filler and the terrifying fanbase these days. Gash was good from beginning to end...

This is true.
One Strip! One Strip!Looking back at some old threads... it seems some people were actually speculating Ponygon or even Purio might become King.
Also, I saw talk of a "Creator of the Books" who's apparently the one really in control of the fight, not the King. Does anyone know where this character was mentioned? Did Raiku have a Bigger Bad planned and then change his mind?
No clue unfortunately.
I also want to take this time to say that I really like Gash's Zaguruzemu technique as well.
Just cause it has so many damn utilities. I think that's the spell that he and Kiyomaro got the most use out of. It was a real Swiss-Army Weapon of a technique.
The one thing it couldn't do was boost Gash's own strength.
One Strip! One Strip!By the way, did Dr. Riddles have the Answer Talker? He has the same weird Rinnegan eyes, and it'd explain how he "knows everything."
I just heard of that theory recently, but it's never been stated.
It would probably make sense.
One Strip! One Strip! Not sure how an Answer Talker user could lose to a dunderhead like Belgim though. Maybe it was a weaker form?
He might not have been able to fully control it like Kiyomaro in the beginning.
He maybe never thought to use it to see if Belgium could get up from his chair at all.
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think he had the actual Answer Talker, but given how Raiku liked to use eyes as a way of showing off a trait (such as Gash and Zeon's determined eyes, or Barry's strong eyes), he gave Prof. Riddle "wise eyes" and then gave those to the people with the Answer Talker to imply a breadth to their knowledge. Parallel structure and all that.
Also, one thing that I really liked about Gash Bell was that it was just about the only shonen I can think of that actually did a theme of Friendship well. Mostly, such as in Fairy Tail and One Piece, it's just used as a way to motivate oneself in a fight for the sake of a friend, or in worse cases, pull new power from your ass because friendship. In Gash Bell, just about every battle in the series once things pick up involve at least two of the heroes main group, plus some of the major side characters. Literally the only major fight I can think of that was completely one on one was Brago vs Zofis. It makes the theme more believeable when you have friends and they are active participants rather than just fodder who can get whooped for a powerup.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia!Y'know, as underwhelming as anime!Faudo was, am I the only one that liked the fact they left the end result of Zatch vs. Brago ambiguous? I think pretty much everyone knew that the contest would eventually come down to just those two, so in a way, allowing everyone to draw his or her own conclusions satisfies everyone!
Necro'ing this thread because I just found this:
There's gonna be some kinda livestream about the series this Wednesday, but I'm not sure what it's about since I can't read Japanese. It does seem to have something to do with Bandai Namco, so it might be a game of some sort. Still, the series ended back about ten years ago, so it seems kinda strange.
Let's keep an eye out I'd say.
One Strip! One Strip!WOW WOW WOW. Fingers crossed for adapting the manga's ending.
So I missed it; what did it turn out to be?
Me too actually. I totally forgot about it since I was doing other things that day.
I guess watch the video and see what they say...provided there's a translation.
One Strip! One Strip!Looks like a gatcha game. A gash-a game
Damn.
Well, I suppose it's something. Maybe it'll mean new popularity for the series. Perhaps we'll get a proper Faudo arc and Kings Festival out of it...or Raiku may do a sequel series.
One Strip! One Strip! It's so weird they'd launch this now, thirteen years after the series ended. I wonder if it's building up to something?
So, given the preponderance of late '90s-to-mid '00s nostalgia based works going around these days, I wonder what the odds are of a ZB revival, or adaptation of the last two manga arcs sans the Gecko Ending?
I'd be happy with a proper adaptation of the last two arcs. I still love Gash Bell.
One Strip! One Strip!Potentially controversial hot take: while the manga's conclusion on the whole was, obviously, better than the anime's, I actually really liked the anime's epilogue leaving it ambiguous who won the Post-Climax Confrontation between Zatch and Brago. It was painfully obvious since the very first arc that they'd be the last two left, and both are heroes so there's no real stakes, and as such I feel this is a case where an Ambiguous Ending actually works.
No. They stopped right before Coral Q appeared.
And that in itself is a tragedy.
