They had a ton of characters, but most didn't make it out of there.

That was a problem for me. Tons of supporting characters meant it was pretty hard to give them all time to really shine before they got offed when compared to the more powerful four lead characters who made it out okay. Like, this arc was Bari's second appearance and he dropped out of the series without ever even having his promised rematch with Gash! That sucked.

True, but at least his last fight was 12 different kinds of Awesome.
Hell, that's one thing I really liked about Gash Bell, everyone got a chance to shine at some point..........

One Strip! One Strip!Well no one ever liked him anyways, besides he made it to the final 10 or so that's better than most.
A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body.I found that fact that Papipurio was able to last as long as he did against Gorm to be pretty cool, though you are right about him not getting much time to shine and actually win a fight. I also liked Kyanchome's battle with Gorm afterwards, since it gave good development for both him and Folgore.

A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body.Because CN stopped in the middle of the Zofis arc I never finished the series.
....WhyWell you can find it online if you ever want to finish it.
A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body. So, if anyone can remember, who did you think/hope would win while the series was still running? Brago, here.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I didn't start reading it until the manga was over, but I was pulling for Gash. Mostly because of Kiyomaru though.
A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body. The guy with the Sunbeam avatar pulls for Gash? Surprising, considering there WERE people who considered Umagon a serious possibility.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I never really considered Umagon a possibility. Especially since part of his development and flashback was letting Gash ride him. Fundamentally that puts him in a lower position.
Also he can't speak their language. I know that can be worked around, but it's still weird.
Sunbeam was all kinds of groovy though.

A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body. There were people predicting Raiku was just nuts enough to do it.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Correct me if I am wrong but did Umagon ever express a desire to be Demon King? Tio too for that matter.
A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body.Doesn't matter whether you want to be king. Last one standing's it, no matter what they want.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Yeah, but it's hard for me to pull for someone unless they want it. Brago and Gash both wanted to be king. So I can pull for them. I don't think that Tio or Umagon particularly cared if they became King so long as whoever did become king would not be a tyrant.
A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body.Indeed. I pulled for Gash, by the by.
Also, about the Faudo arc and Supporting characters not getting their time to shine, I disagree. I feel that they all got their time to shine, and while they got less time then the main 4 pairs, they were still really awesome.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia!I pulled for Brago for the following reasons:
- First, this is a fighting manga, and Brago is the most powerful character seen (except Clear Note, but of course he can't win), proving himself in battle time and time again. He clearly has the strength to be King.
- I am confident he'd be a kind king. He clearly has the resolve to be King.
- He's 14 to Gash's six. He's also clearly more well-acquainted with how the world works, which I think would be a good quality to be King.
- It would subvert cliches.
There were some times when I wondered if Brago would win, as by the end, either him or Gash would have made a pretty good king. Both were incredibly strong(and Brago started off pretty powerful) and had grown a lot (Gash was a little wiser, and mature, while Brago was less brutal and cruel).
I agree that with Gash being the King's son, him winning was kind of Cliche, but that's how things go sometimes. It's also a shame Sherri couldn't keep her promise to make him King (and not for lack of trying either).
One Strip! One Strip!Mega-ultra necro, I know, but I wanted to talk about this series some more.
Particularly, I wanted to ask this: did anyone who followed this manga think the current King (Zatch's dad, in other words) would be the final Big Bad? He certainly looked intimidating enough in his first appearance, what with being a ginormous silhouette with glowing eyes and big scary teeth who electrocuted his three-year-old son, but once we see him in a good light, he turns out to not only look nothing like his silhouette, but be a repentant Blood Knight trying to curb those same tendencies he saw in his son.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Not sure.
Do you think he would have made a good final villain?
It might have worked, but having to fight his own dad might have been too much for Gash.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm not sure what kind of final villain he'd have made, I was just kind of taken aback by how heavily they implied he was a baddie and then abruptly revealed he... wasn't a baddie.
Somewhat relatedly, apparently Raiku confirmed on his blog that King Bell's final opponent was Goren, the guy who turned all those Mamodo to stone. Wouldn't that have been something to see? I sort of doubt it'd be as friendly as Zatch vs. Brago...

The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Huh. I didn't know Goren made it to the end. I thought I read that he took out a lot of guys, but got eliminated before then.
But I guess it makes sense for him to have been one of the last two.
Also, I just want to say that Ted's gears are my favourite anime techniques ever.
Their like Kaioken.
One Strip! One Strip!Ted's Gears are pretty cool, though I like Riou's and Arth's spells better.
By the way, the dub didn't even begin the Faudo arc, did it? crazy...

Yeah, the Faudo arc had a ton of supporting characters. Elle and Momon, Alishie and Raya, Kyle and Rein, Sauza and Karudio, Elly and Arth, Gustav and Bari, Lee Yen and Won Rei, and I think there might have been some more as well, though I can't quite remember.
