Psionics in general is really useful and consumes so little mana smile I guess I will go Psionics then Tinkering and maybe later for Clockwork Knight or more Tinkering.

Can your stats go over 99? My sneakiness is 82 and if I keep finding random artifacts with sneakiness in them it will probably reach it.

I dunno.

I somehow doubt it, especially because a lot of the stats function as percentages. Over 100% counter would be ridiculous.

As it is, I can get about 93% counter with Swashbuckling active. tongue

Yeah it would be ridiculous to counter 120% percent of the time tongue

I am liking the new encrust system, one of my favorite is the Gaga's Glaze one of each steak to give you five extra life points in helmet/armor/pants smile

Honestly, I still haven't bought the latest expansion. I've been overwhelmed with all the skills already, and I think I'll wait a bit before moving on. tongue

My current build is (doing a 15 floor run on normal, permadeath):

  • Mace
  • Armor
  • Shield
  • Berserker
  • Demonology
  • Geology
  • Communism

This was a modified version of my first win build back when I played RC version of You Have to Name the Expansion Pack (10 floor, easy, permadeath), with communism replacing fungal arts...proved to be worse than expected, with me dying several times...it's basically a tank build that can get crapload of block to negate most of normal damage...with geology tree there to help with some damage and useful utilities (and in this build, communism as well)...

I'm currently doing a GRPD run. Because I hate myself.

But this is the farthest I've ever gotten. On floor 5 now, and doing good! Working my way towards a full set of clockwork armor. Next level I'll have the tinkering to get a clockwork belt and a Bolt Eruptor, the latter of which should make Monster Zoos a piece of cake.

And I've already gotten two Bolts of Mass Destruction. Being able to craft them yourself helps!

Wait the stats function as percentage? What about my blocking going past 100 easily?

[up][up][up]Seems like a good build, remember that the bomb that you get from the last communism skill is one time use and to craft more you need level 5 or 6 wandcrafting.

[up][up]My strategy for monsters zoos it to use a stony wand to leave a 1 square chokepoint and take enemies one on one.

I think that Psionic can give a lot of utility to a rougue guild, healing and pushing enemies away is quite useful and the ability to stun an enemy for three turns (nerve staple) qand because of the two points of Savvy you gain per level you can end with very little mana cost.

[up][up] That's what the wiki tells me.

Seems to be true, as I counter damn near ever attack when I've got about 93 counter.

That one is a Cool Hat!

Argggg, I'm seriously regretting not picking up archaeology! With all the artifacts I found I could already have two or more extra levels! On the other hand I just have a lot of money and all the items Brax sells are inferior to my current equipment sad

I've got quite a bit of money as well (thanks to piracy) and not much to spend it on.

Though I pretty much always buy craftables when possible. I want a full set of clockwork armor!

I currently have 60k, so I dodn't think I can espend it all unless there is a super awesome item better than my current equipment.

You can get ridiclous hugh amount of money in the first floor alone if you are a Bankster, kill monsters in one tile and then cast insurance fraud on a corpse, you will get money for every corpse in that tile.

Think it is better that you kill than if it was because of an enemy, at least you will have a better use of it and will (probably) not profane its corpse.

I'm afraid I might be hooked on Clockwork Knight.

No matter how much I play other classes, I never enjoy them as much as a clockwork knight build.

Yeah Clockwork Knight is awesome and really good for a rougue build for things like the rocket jump.

I'm stuck in the monster zoo from DL 5 :( Keep diyng to a champion there

Unfortunately, both Rocket Jump and Charge of the Steam Brigade deal a fair amount of fire damage.

On the other hand, the clockwork armor you keep getting recipes for has a fair amount of fire resist.

There is also another thing that deals a fair amount of fire damage and is also awesome. The worst idea ever. Three hand grandes and some copper wire incrusted into your weapon will cause sometimes when attacking an explosion of 3x3 centered in your character that really hurts and for some reason it haywayres a lot sad

Obviously I need to encrust a pair of clockwork chainswords with the worst idea ever.

Obviously.

Yeah, that will be fun! But to do that you need tinkering level 3 and to find 3 granades (or the recipe to craft it) and the recipe for the worst idea ever.

Sadly I died to my really strange dagger with the worst idea ever, on the bright side the lastest autosave was some turns before encrusting my dagger so I took the boring decision of not encrusting it.

And whatever you do be carefull of ancient rutabagabas, they can debuff you with food poisoning that one of it effects is temporary loosing 8 max health. The real problem is that when they charge they can apply multiple instance of food poisoning either leving you with almost no health or killing you because you know have no health at all :|

So my current plan is this:

When my Clockwork Knight dies, I'll buy the new expansion.

I don't wanna deal with whatever shenanigans installing the new expansion during this playthrough will cause.
