Interesting. From an uneducated point of view it has Crawl with animations and British humor. I might actually consider getting it.
edit: And some very well polished graphics.

Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans. And only $5 on Steam when it comes out in 2 weeks.
Jonah FalconWhoops. Sorry for duplicate thread.
This looks great, I'm definitely going to get it.
Isn't this out already? Going by the trailer anyway.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comNot on Steam, I don't know if you can buy it elsewhere yet.
It is out now.
From the official forum there are still a few bugs but they are being worked on, also there are gonna be updates to the skills and more content added in the future according to the devblog.
By the powers invested in me by tabloid-reading imbeciles, I pronounce you guilty of paedophilia!Yeah, I grabbed a copy. What can I say, 4.50 is a low enough price to take a risk. Its fun so far, if totally in a "kill loot repeat" manner. Feels like a turn based Diablo to me, which makes sense given what Diablo was based on.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comJust got this. Haven't gotten past the first floor yet. :/
What are your favorite skill builds?
Haven't played enough to really judge. It looks like most, if not all, skills are quite useful though, provided you don't do anything stupid ( take Magic Training but no spellcasting skills ).
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comIt's pretty deep for a $5 Roguelike. Am posting my review in a few days.
Jonah FalconPicked this up recently, and though I've only dabbled so far, I love the humorous presentation, which pervades in everything from the monster design to the item tooltips to the skill descriptions. It comes off as very Monty Python.
The interface is just a tad clunkier than it needs to be, but not seriously debilitating, and still ages better than the 'have fun memorizing thirty different key combinations' of standard roguelikes (as much as I love them).
How's that review coming, JAF?

Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed.Seriously, if you enjoy rogue-likes, this is a must-buy. It's only 5 flippin' dollars.
Jonah Falconthis may be my next Steam game after Chantellise
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadAt least Deus Ex is distracting me from it.
Jonah FalconWell, I am number 3 on the high scores for Permadeath + Going Rogue.
Honestly, it'd be pretty simple to beat me. Mages are crazy powerful, especially with two orbs of nothing - it almost doesn't matter what school of magic you take. Arithmancy is insane, though. At higher levels Zenzizen...etc. gets you 15+ Magic Power for 0 mana cost. So there's that. And Recursive Curse is great, while Curse of Midas stacks.
Also, I think just shitting around killing stuff gets you points (maybe? I haven't tested this, or much of anything really).
But yeah, this is an amazingly fun game, especially since latest patch. Fun build to use is to pick 7 of the 8 schools of magic and just go to town with all that power & flexibility. And this post is clearly just to brag that I got the third highest score on Going Rogue + Permadeath, but hells, I don't care. Took me long enough to kill Lord Dredmor, I'm gonna brag about it.*
Did you get 3rd place after the recent update, or before?
As the last patch included a leaderboard wipe, whilst fixing a lot and making enemies a lot 'better' (Spell casting improved, more resistances, etc etc.)
I just realized, one of the system requirements is a Video Card that can run Direct X 9 for its Shaders, isn't it.
If so, then I may have to hold off on this game for now (wont let it be like Super Meat boy, Braid, and Terraria)
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft instead$5 is mind-bogglingly expensive for a Roguelike. That's more than a trillion times as expensive as Nethack. And that's terrible.
Except [condescending response follows]. Because [sarcasm here]. You do understand [snark], right? POTHOLE TO SARCASM MODEAs someone who shelled out 35 bucks for Zettai Hero Kaizou Keikaku (Why does that page still have the Japanese name?) and loved it, I'm cool with this.

Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadThat's only because most people aren't willing to play an ASCII-based game unless it's free. ;) You pays for them thar fancy graphics kajiggers, son.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed. That isn't very much.
Not to mention it has hand animated/drawn art and stuff you don't find in the ASCII stuff, as it is meant to appeal to a new generation.

Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadso, I don't suppose anybody has found out how to control what you make with the crafting system when two thing have the same ingredients? I want brass mechanisms, not brass piping!
