The man's denial for her to see the King was irritating her. And why would they send her to tell the King that the tower was aflame? The thing caught fire 2,67 times a week on an average since she moved there, it was hardly something noteworthy to report.

She was about to argue, harshly, to the man when he mentioned something for her to eat... That changed thins quite a bit.

"Hmm well... I guess I can wait a little... It is understandable that the King's priorities are a little in disorder when someone so close to him got affected... you said by Dream Dust? Any chance there's some left from cursing the Princess? I haven't ever had the chance to study that stuff"

But an awfully meek guard poked his head in to suggest that she might join the adventuring party. Her only answer to that was incredible confusion "...Eh?"

"I need to present myself to the king, and I guess I may have also been chosen to go save his daughter," Jester said. "If we're lucky, then we get to go on a journey."

Turning towards her Jester smiled, "That is, if you want to go with us? It may be dangerous though, but I'm sure you can handle it from how I've seen you act."

Seeing the young girl with the guard, he sighed. "Three coins say our party is about to get bigger."

"I have that feeling too," Torando deadpanned.

This was getting odd, even for Orco'Tuk. "Ah, If your'e lookin' for more people to join our party Jester, I think you missed an orphanage on the way here." Orco'Tuk snarked. "You seem to see alot of potential in the frail, easy-to-rip-to-shreds kind."

She considered his offer carefully. She had debated whether her research of Humans needed more focus. Traveling with a select group of Humans and monitering their habits and choices rather than trying to view humanity as a whole may get her farther faster.

"Yes. I go journey with Jester tribe." *

She turned to Orco'tuk, and raised her spear at him, raising her lip to show off her fang. "You say me frail. We see who frail, yes?"

"You thought it wouldn't?" Admiral piped up from behind Jester. "With how these things typically go we'll probably get one or two more members after we set off" he added, then saw the Wolf woman raising her spear at the Ogre.

"Hey hey, down doggie. Don't we have better things to do than fight each other?" Admiral asked, his Neko half again feeling a little unnerved.

Orco'Tuk, after a moment of contemplation, spoke."Yes, we'll see. Not here though, pup. We'll have a good ten dozen blades at us if we start fighting here. Lets keep it off, for their sake, would we?" This was gonna be a fun trip, it would.

Near the palace door, Fergus was speaking with Robert. A few hasty nods from the soft-spoken guard later, and the palace doors slid open. Fergus turned back to the group.

"Right! Time to get going, then! The King is ready to see us right now!" he called.

Anicca lowered her spear. "Later." She agreed begrudgingly.

Looking at the group, Jester gulped.

"Is everyone ready?"

"That I am" said Orco'Tuk.

Cody nodded. "You seem nervous though." That gave him an idea. His ideas were seldom good, but the fairy had a proud tradition of ignoring that fact. "I could give you some oratory inspiration. Call it a free sample." It occurred to Cody that this statement might sound unseemly, but it was all fair and square. Inspiration-bartering was as close to a legitimate business as most faeries get.

"I go as you go." Anicca replied.*

"R-Really? I mean, this is my first time speaking to a foreign King and I don't want to screw up..."

After a few moments, he nodded at Cody. "I'll give it a go."

"Right. Not quite sure how it'll hit you, but if you catch a brainwave, just ride it." Cody said as he reached out for his abilities. He couldn't describe how he did it, just as he couldn't describe the exact mechanics that allowed him to move his limbs, but it was fairy magic to be sure. His right palm glowed silver as he reached out and touched Jester's shoulder. As soon as his hand made contact, the silver glow shot over to him. Here was hoping he didn't get too artsy. Cody preferred the more avant-garde, but every once in a while, being good in the traditional sense had it's applications too. This was one of those times.

Jester looked around. Was something supposed to happen? He had a slight headache, but was that it?

"I daresay that your endeavor may have not been initially successful. Mayhap we try once more?"

Wait, what did I just say?

Cody nodded again. Damn, he was good at this. "I think you've got it. Just don't start talking about nunneries, and let's go."

"As you can see... it is quite the party forming day." Sibrand replied. "I'm afraid not, Ainfean quarantined the whole place so getting samples might be... difficult. I'd get one myself, but I'm not in the mood of arguing with that witch and the guards stationed there given what transcended."

He then facepalmed. "Just imagine... the one I most agree with in the entire day about what happens, is you."

He paused.

"Well, anyway. Do you want to see the cook or do you prefer to see the King? I'm fairly certain no one will say a thing if I invite myself to that audience." He pointed at his noble garment.

Well she was supposed to see the King as soon as possible... however... The offer of food was too tempting for the girl to put her affairs as a priority.

"I-I guess it would be more productive to simply let them deal with their affairs first. It would be inconsiderate of my part to worry the King with two different issues on these hard times. So, you got good cooks on the palace?" Clarice asked with a wee bit too much enthusiasm.

"Are we all ready, then?" asked Fergus, drifting into the hallway. "Good. Let's go. Follow me, please." As the broom floated down the hallway, Robert rushed inside, moving to swing the large throne-room doors open with a hasty bow.

Inside, the group would find a large, almost-empty hall. On a platform at one end, there stood two tall, mahogany thrones, on which the King and Queen sat; the King looking unusually sober, the Queen much the same as usual. Right in front of the platform, at a table buried in paper and quills, a man in his mid-forties sat, head down as he concentrated on his work.

Stepping towards the King and Queen, Jester kneeled down onto one knee and crossed his arm across his chest in a show of respect.

"Your Majesties, allow me to say that is a magnificent honor to be graced with your presence. I only wish this meeting could be conducted under more auspicious circumstances."

In his own species' gesture of respect, Orco'Tuk crossed his arms, and bent his head forward. "Pleasure to offer services again, human lord."

Anicca was a bit confused. Surely this man and woman weren't the only two elders in a place as big as this? Nevertheless, she mimicked Jester's movements and knelt*

Admiral brought one arm to his chest and bowed his head a moment, then looked back up at the king and queen with a smile. "Nice to see you two again. Did one of your subjects explain my offer to you?" Admiral asked them.

Darius stopped up short, his eyebrows rising in an expression of mild urprise. "Me? You sure you're not looking for some other Darius Web? One that's, you know, alive?" He asked warily. Old habits die hard, and "you're wanted at the palace" was a pretty good euphamism for "we have a nice set of stockades ready for you."

The King acknowledged the bows with a regal nod.

"I am pleased to see so many of you gathered here today," he said formally, before responding to Admiral's question. "Yes. Ainfean discussed the matter with me yesterday. I am very pleased to accept your generous donation, very pleased indeed." He frowned slightly, looking around the room. "Speaking of which, we appear to be missing a few people..."

"Absolutely positive," replied Ainfean. "I have other people to search for, too, so you'd better not waste my time. Are you going to go to the palace, or will I have to drag your ectoplasmic rear end the whole way?"
