Cody did not dally either, following the broom. "So. You're a swordsman I take it?" He asked Jester. Sure, he wasn't sure how useful it'd be to inspire your common brute, but it still didn't hurt to check the landscape, staking out potential inspiratees, as it were. Plus, it was helpful to know who carried the iron.
Liveblog | DeadblogJester nodded, "And a witch too." He rubbed his chin, "Guess that would make me, uhh, a Witch-Blade or something I guess." He laughed at his own joke. "But I am a Knight first and foremost. I would rather talk an enemy down from hostility than draw my blade."
Tornado spoke up. "And I'm there to make sure you draw me only when needed."
"Oh yeah, forgot you could do that."
"It would do you well to remember that at all times, Jester."
"That's probably a good way to go about things." Cody said. "I've seen a couple of swordsmen that couldn't keep it in their sheaths to save their lives. Literally, in most cases." Cody still hadn't gotten used to the talking sword, but considering how much weird stuff existed back home, he probably should have by now.

Liveblog | DeadblogAnicca cast a worried look on Tornado, the second inanimate object to have shown an ability to talk in less than twenty minutes. She bit her lip * , and wondered whether her short time among the humans was already driving her mad.

Need a tall, brawny fella to come by and inspect your pickle? Perhaps I may be this fella.Admiral lazily followed along towards the palace, staying behind a few steps and not participating in the discussion currently. He still wanted to speak with that fairy, but she would probably be at the palace. Then Admiral just wanted to try and get that dancing martial artist Zeal to tag along as well.
The knight had mentioned this being his first assignment, yet he had fought fairly well yesterday. A talented rookie. This is getting good already he thought, grinning to himself.
You are reading this.Sibrand adjusted his crown for the sixth time in a row as he spun around himself to check that everything was in his place. The day of today they'd get a lot of visitors and they would trust the fate of the kingdom to complete strangers. He had to do his best to look somewhat imposing.
He had donned his armor, which seemed awfully stuffy at this point, complete with sword and a neatly made cape with the emblem of the Cire Duchy. The fairy had not come in the entire night, and there were other... recent issues that were creeping up. Like that individual addressing Ainfean early. He could feel it was up to no good. Greedy individuals could be useful, but one had to be careful to stop them in their tracks in time.
He then peeked out of his window, just to notice a girl riding on a lion through the streets. Trust the association to send a weird messenger. He took to himself meeting her, as a fellow Mage, and explain the situation. Because as things as they were, chances are that even such an unusual sight, she would be ignored.
He made haste walking, to where the feline was.

Orco'Tuk, having taken a tad longer to wake up, quickly realized that the others just might have left. In one swift motion, he went from lying on the floor, to a sprint out the door, to standing on the shattered remains of the door. "Ah CARPCRAP!" he exclaimed. He took a few coins and put it amongst the splinters"That'll do." Upon seeing others, he was immediately relieved. The wolf thing was new, though.
"Thats our critter, I'm thinking?"

I kick arse for the Lord!As it was only natural, nobody stood in Clarice's way as she rode towards the palace. Clearly her impossing presence was more than enough for most of the common folk to make way for her *
On her way she heard the murmurs about some sort of princess in some manner of distress that required saving by some manner of adventurers who would embark on some sort of quest for it. That certainly sounded like a lot of trouble... the young mage allowed herself a brief minute to pity the poor idiots that would need to embark on such a foolhardy adventure.
However the first obstacle came when she was but a few paces away from the gates to the palace. Quite suddenly her mount dropped down and refused to take a single step forward. The young girl immediately dismounted to check what the problem was... only to find her might beast had fallen asleep... As it was typical of the big lazy thing.
"Leorium! We're not there yet!" Clarice exclaimed as she pulled on the lion's ears, head and then eye lids... all without a single result. The lion's sloth was mighty indeed "Come on you big useless thing...!"
However the big lazy thing would not be roused and after five minutes of pulling on it's mane the little mage was more than a little tired of the struggle.
"Hmp! It doesn't matter... now that I think about it a great mage should arrive on her own two feet. No sense in intimidating everyone by arriving on your big comfy back. Alright Leorium, you'll have a new and very important task to accomplish" Clarice said as she took off her big white hat only to drop on the lion's head "Guard my hat! I think I read somewhere that it's rude to wear one in presence of royalty... or in a church. Anyway, you take good care of it!" The girl said in her most commanding tone, arms crossed below her chest.
Taking a particularly loud snore of the big feline as a sign of compliance and obedience the young mage nodded her head and retrieved the book bag from the lion's side. Slinging it over her shoulder she took her first short steps towards the gates of the palace.
Besides the unremarkable guards that basically served as breathing furniture in Clarice's mind she saw a person in very fancy armor heading her way. Well as good a place to start as any.
"You! I am Clarice Lucia Syrian, genius mage coming with important business from the Arcane Tower of Magical Studies. I'll need you to arrange a meeting with the King immediately. Nothing too fancy, I'll like to get straight to the point. Fifteen minutes over some desserts will suffice!"
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything."GYAAAH!"
Several large bolts of lightning chased Iskar out the door, one of them coming close enough to singe his fur. Zedrick tumbled out of his room, still half-asleep and scared out of his gourd.
"THERE'S A GIGANTIC BLOODY CAT IN HERE!" He screamed, clutching his staff. It was a rather pitiful affair which had apparently been broken and taped back up several times, and the business end of it was covered in scorch marks.
Pretend there's something clever written here.Sibrand gave her a blank stare. "Really, you are in no position to make demands given the circumstances, fellow sister." Sibrand said, as he showed the emblem of the Arcane Tower. "And you need to be taught better manners. No matter if you got a lion as a mount." He then paused and folded his arms.
"I am Sibrand of Cire, son of Duke Erik of Cire, and fellow Wizard. Unless the Arcane Tower is set aflame and monsters overrun it, your problems are secondary to this kingdom's distress. See, Princess Jocelyn has been encased in Dream Dust by an evil fairy on her birthday yesterday, and... they're gathering the obligatory party of moronic fame-seekers today."
He then approached the mage. "Although I do understand you want to eat something after these long travels. I'll see what can I do for a guest of the Crown. I offer no promises in the audience with the king, though. Things are ... confusing as it is."
"E- Excuse me, you two. That's not quite accurate," called a hesitant voice from right in front of the palace doors, as Robert the guard peered out at the pair. "Um... You could get an audience with the King quite easily, in fact, if you're planning on volunteering for the questing party. The King is prepared to negotiate a reward for the members of a successful questing party, so you could probably get... Whatever it is you want, anyway... If you decided to join, that is. Otherwise... Otherwise, I'm afraid the King won't be able to see you. Today, at least." He blinked. "Sorry to bother you. It's kind of my duty to let everyone know about this."
The broom led the group along a wide street, heading towards the palace, swinging through the air with a purposeful sweeping motion. As he glided, he chattered, evidently pleased to have company.
"I personally think it's really cool that you lot have decided to form a questing party! I've always wanted to go on a quest, but being Ainfean's familiar and all, I've never really gotten the chance. I swear that woman hasn't left the city once since I became her familiar." He chuckled. "Well, I can't say my life is boring, anyway. I've gotten in plenty of adventuers as it is."

Anyway here's BlackwallDarius had spent some time the previous night finding a place to - well, not sleep exactly, but rest * He'd settled on the cellar - it was out of the way, so noone would walk through him while he tried to nap. That never ended well. Although I hear that last inn is raking it in with their "haunted corner booth"
The ghost emerged through the cellar door and, well, started to drift towards the common room. Not much else to do, really.
"I find this whole adventuring thing sort of gauche myself." Cody said as he flew after the broom. "All power to the adventurers, of course, but I'm more of a high art sort of guy." Yeah, that didn't come of as arrogant or anything. On the other hand, Cody fancied himself to have a certain arrogance allowance that he could spend as he saw fit, and he had been relatively frugal lately.
Liveblog | Deadblog"Ya want some REAL excitment, broomstick, head over to the ogre clans. I'll point ya there, though it cant be too hard to find it otherwise. Just follow the broke things and the stink."
Orco'Tuk was pretty upbeat about the journey. He found it a welcome change from fighting just to survive. He couldnt shake the feeling that he still had to do it though. It was a weird feeling, it dug in the pit of his stomach.

I kick arse for the Lord!Darius would hear a small pop nearby as a certain black-dress-wearing housekeeper appeared in front of him.
"Darius Web?" Ainfean asked crisply, looking over the ghost. "You're wanted at the palace for some reason. Move it."
"Is that so?" chuckled Fergus in response to Cody. "Well, that sounds mighty sophisticated." He turned to Orco'Tuk. "Well, that doesn't really sound like the most ideal place for a broom to live, does it? All the same, all the same, it would be interesting."
Anyway here's BlackwallJester smiled. "I did quite a bit of adventuring in my squire days, and I can honestly say that while it takes a certain kind of person, those people can hardly be torn away from it."
Of course, in his squiring days, all Jester did was hold his knights bags and help out in the occasional small scuffle, but who needs details?

"No offense there, friend. Ogre clans are a bad place for ogres to live in. A broom might just survive just by being inconspicuous!" Orcu'Tuk said with a hefty chuckle. "Just as long as you keep quiet."

I kick arse for the Lord!Fergus laughed. "Keep quiet, huh? I suppose I can do that if I have to. Maybe in another lifetime. We're almost at the palace!"
Sure enough, the group would be able to see the doors to the palace now, as well as the little girl and the armoured man standing directly outside. Whether they chose to dwell on that or not was up to them; Fergus paid them no heed, instead drifting over to the guard, hailing him cheerfully.
"Morning, Robert!"
Anyway here's BlackwallAnicca stared at the Royal Palace, mouth slightly agape.
"B-big..." She said in shock. She had never once in her life seen a building so...magnanamous.
Need a tall, brawny fella to come by and inspect your pickle? Perhaps I may be this fella.Jester nodded. "Possibly the biggest castle I've ever seen." Seeing Anicca's expression, he smiled. "This your fist time seeing it?"
"Ya, its nice an' all. Just not too practical. Ogres make things simple. Goes down a bit easier, but we dont fight around them, and easy to rebuild. We use more resources for the essentials, we do." Orco wasnt lying when he said it was nice. But he'd never admit it was better in any way. Primarily because he didnt actually think it was better in any way.
I kick arse for the Lord! She nodded. Considering last night was her first time * seeing anything more sophisticated than a small hut, the Palace was a bit overwhelming.
She managed to pull her thoughts away from it, and realized something.
"Why here?" She asked Jester. *

Anicca, who was frankly quite frightened of the talking broom (though doing a fantastic job hiding it) nonetheless followed it and Jester, partly because it was mentioned that it was going to the Palace and partly because she had nowhere else to go at this point.
