Remember that fantasy casting thing I mentioned before? Well, College Humor decided to take that casting and film a "trailer" for Daria's High School Reunion.

Decent attempt, best you could get if MTV wasn't run by sub-Stuart Snyder imbeciles. My preference is an animated 3rd movie where Daria works for a Huff Post erstatz run by a character voiced by Stephen Colbert who makes her cover her high school reunion. But I enjoyed it enough to forward it to my best friend, who was compared to Daria in our high school days.
Several spin-offs are in the works, the first has been officially announced: "Jodie"

Is it a modern day sequel or a Setting Update spinoff? Daria is so overwhelmingly 90s that I can't see a spinoff just casually implying the characters are 2000s kids.
According to Varity, the Jodie animated series has been reworked into an animated film instead.
“Jodie” is written by Grace Edwards, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Ellis Ross and Ashley Kohler of Awesome Inc. MTV Entertainment Studios produces.
- Tracee Ellis Ross Ross will play Jodie, the iconic character from “Daria.” Fresh from college graduation and full of ambition, Jodie heads to the big city for a prestigious internship at tech behemoth, Firstfinity.
- Pamela Adlon will play Jocelyn Light, the trailblazing VP of Internet Affairs at First Finity whom Jodie reveres.
- Cole Escola (Search Party) will play Ryan, Jodie’s intern friend at Firstfinity who is allergic to earnestness.
- Jojo T. Gibbs will play Tiffany, who has swag for weeks, lives in Jodie’s building and is Cas’ ex.
- William Jackson Harper will play Mack, Jodie’s witty and supportive high school sweetheart from the original “Daria” series.
- Zosia Mamet will play Greta, a beachy-waved, self-proclaimed empath and Jodie’s fellow intern at Firstfinity.
- Alex Moffat will play Barry, the overeager internship coordinator at Firstfinity who, despite being in his 50s, desperately tries to be Gen-Z cool.
- Creator/Dermot Mulroney will play Lionel, the powerful and charming CEO of Firstfinity.
- Arden Myrin will play Britney, the former Lawndale cheerleader from Daria turned influencer at First Finity.
- Kal Penn will play Sandeep, another fellow intern who is a fitness-obsessed, tech bro.
- Kofi Siriboe will play Raymond, Jodie’s incredibly handsome, but not-so-friendly supervisor at Firstfinity.
- Dulcé Sloan will play Cas, Jodie’s fun-loving best friend from college and new roommate. A finance genius and social butterfly, Cas plays as hard as she grinds.
- Helene Yorke will play Nia, Jodie’s brown-nosing, fellow intern who will do whatever it takes to get ahead.
HELEN YOOOOOORKE!!!
Did they say on which platform is it gonna be available?
MTV is owned by Paramount, so it's super likely it'll be Paramount+.
Not Three Laws compliant.Odd that they picked a more minor character to do a spin-off with, but maybe they want to do more with the character and dont have to rely so much on the canon like they would have do with someone like Jane for example.
"Spin-off featuring a minor classmate as the new lead" is precisely were Daria came from though.
I find it kind of amusing that Jodie seems about as connected to Daria as Daria was connected to Beavis and Butt-Head.
Just a person. He/him.Are the creators still in denial about Daria and Jane being in love with each other in a romantic non-platonic way?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Apparently the Jodie spin-off series-turned-movie has been unexpectedly shelved today, according to Deadline.
Wow...didn't think they would cancel this project already.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!
I thought he was alright. Kind of a necessary plot device for the movie if anything.
