I fucking love how /b/tards expect to have the world handed to them on a silver platter the moment they cause a little ruckus.

No one's gonna miss you.

Most of 4chan hates these guys, because they threaten the website by bringing unwarranted attention on it, as well as well, they are hacking the shit we like too.

But yeah /b/tards are the only ones who probably support them, even if they do nothing but cheer from the sidelines.

I wonder what it is with Americans where there is a stigma attached to moving out of your parents house as soon as you're 18 whether it be for college or just to find your own place, I'm 21 and still live with my parents and it's considered perfectly normal.

I think it stems from the fact that we are still considered a strongly independent people.

Some of us appreciate the freedom to walk around the house butt-naked.

Actually, the stigma's already starting to fade thanks to the recession and other factors. The Millennial generation is known as the boomerang generation because a lot of young people are moving back in with their parents after graduating college. And when I mean a lot, I mean it's starting to be seen as normal.

I'm 27 and still live under my parents' roof*

. It's either that or not complete my Masters and live under a slumlord in Methlabland. I'll stick with a small amount of lost freedom in a rather nice suburb while I gain job experience and rake in my shit income* . [lol] They're awesome people anyways, so no strain there. One day when I'm able to strike out on my own I know it will be without debt and with a decent chance to live comfortably.

It's easy to see how someone who doesn't mesh as well with their parents, has differing priorities, or simply has a lot of pride would look down on that, though.

I was living with my mother until a month before my 30th birthday, when I got married. Round here it's not only accepted practice, people would actually look at me funny if I moved out on my own while I was still single.

Getting back to the original subject, even though this isn't OTC... tongue

Mega Rock 35: "Anti-Sec movement?" Isn't security a good thing?

Anti-Sec would be more properly expanded out as anti-security company, in particular the policies of said companies making various vulnerabilities (worms, viruses, trojans, etc) public, with the claim that by doing so they encourage more malicious twits, thus boosting the income of the companies in question.

In short: AS thinks that "security by obscurity" is a good thing.

I'm kind of let down that they stopped simply because they "got bored". Now I'm sure that yeah they stopped before shit really got out of hand but I kind of wanted to see them go down with a whole load of them getting arrested or at least some form of justice, it would have made for a good read.

"Lulz" is bad things happening to other people. Kinda like a simpler way to spell "schadenfreude"*

. Their getting arrested themselves isn't as lulzy.

Well, not from their viewpoint, anyway. Me, I'd find it fucking hilarious. grin

[up][up]

The silver lining is that Lulzsec can't just lay low for awhile until the heat wears off because it drew too much attention to itself too quickly and stirred up a storm about Internet security. It got to the point where people actively wanted to catch the members and they're not going to act like everything is forgiven simply because Lulzsec decided to stop. That's not how the justice system works.

In addition, other hackers went gunning for them because Lulzsec rocked the boat and put them all in the spotlight. Others saw Lulzsec as dangerous because they didn't have a clear goal and did the things they did because they could. Those hackers rooted out enough information on Lulzsec for others to follow.

They are going to get caught and they are going to be arrested. The real question is how long will it take.

[up]

Yes, I agree. It is deliciously ironic that they were exposing other people's info because they thought it was funny, but went running with their tails between their legs as soon as it happened to them.

I... See ._. Don't exactly get your point, my brother walked around naked because he wanted to and complained to me(something like "Oh for god's sake, can't people walk naked in their homes" or something equivalent of that, I don't remember anymore) when I complained to him about it.
