Good visual pun, I like it.

We should actually see a majority of people, although a majority being mimes would still be a great pun.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

The trope is about the majority - in a given group, but here mostly fandoms - that doesn't express it's opinions publicly. Where the hardcore fandom would start making forum posts about how a franchise is Ruined Forever, the silent majority simply stops watching.

A visual pun of the type you suggest would underline the title, but not do much to demonstrate the trope.

This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.

I'm not certain, but there's this, which contrasts with Vocal Minority...

Just wanted to point out, that would give almost exactly the same image as Vocal Minority.

Which, I guess is OK. They're complements of each other, right? Is there any way that one can occur without the other?

That picture emphasizes the minority.

I like the one that's similar to Vocal Minority, personally, but if not, maybe a picture of the original would do? I.e. pictures from Nixon's presidential run (I think that's when it was named, right?)...

I am now known as Flyboy.

The problem is it's just another example of a vocal minority, as it gives the impression of greater amounts of the trolls, which is what a vocal minority does.

A silent majority picture should make it clear that the silent people are greater.
