Eeeeeeeh...not bad.
No, it's not an example. Powerpuff Girls is for little girls. Explosions don't negate that. This trope is about shows that, on the surface, appear to be for little girls, but their target demography is older kids.
ETA: I read the example...and I think that even though it apparently is supposed to be for older generations, the fact that most people who watched it were little girls, it was heavily marketed towards little girls, and it aired in a timeslot that made children watching it more accessible, makes it a really confusing image.

Actually I beleive Mc Craggen intended the show to be for adult animation fans, but there was some Executive Medling from Cartoon Network.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Apparently, but the fact remains that the show in it's whole form is for little girls. Even if the creator originally intended differently. I just think the Powerpuff Girls are too strongly associated with a little girl's show.
The target demographic was NOT little girls. That's the point.

I've known about it since the beginning. But I just refused to believe it.This has dragged on long enough; locking up. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
Let me try to get a higher quality version together.
