Science is generally badly taught by games. Especially edutainment games. Way too many games require violation of various laws to function. There is, however, one excellent and notable exception to that.

History.

It is excitingly easy, once you do some research of course, to make games that give or require knowledge of history, from general trends to nice little details. And what's most important about videogames in particular is that they allow you to experience your favourite time piece firsthand. No other science you happen to have a fetish for offers such an experience.

There seems to be an imbalance towards strategy games, though. But that's even better for us escapists!

TL;DR: History based games thread go. Fantasy doesn't count unless noted.

P.S. Warning! If you ever confuse a halberd with a pollax, I will find you. I will find you and stare at you until you become really sad.
