Before we send this topic to sleep (having two project topics for the same trope is pointless), may I recommend the laconic to be changed to "The premise or plot of a story is right there in the title"?

I'm not sure that would be better. The current one covers the "with no further explanation needed". But how about bringing it up in the Laconic repair thread; it could stand some discussing, I think.

That will help, sure, but we really need an organized wick-cleanup campaign (like the one for Understatement). I'll start a new thread for it, with a pinned header post so that we can keep track of what's been checked and cleaned.
