Sonic Colors. We can easily incorporate Sonic's friends more that way than with Unleashed Daytime, due to much slower pacing, and powerups remincent of Tails/Knuckles/Chaotix/etc.

I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2D
I don't know which one was better, but they were pretty much the same execution. Just throw in Wisps powers ups into Unleashed, clean and polish it up, change the scenery, and there you go. I guess Sonic Colors was better because it didn't try to throw in stuff like the night sequences, but I guess that's not what you're asking.

They really weren't the same. Daytime was somewhat overrated. They were super linear and all you did basically was dodge a few obstacle and hold down boost. Colors on the other-had had better exploration and less linear sequences.

As far as the side-scrolling (2D) sections are concerned, Sonic Colors easily wins out by virtue of allowing more exploration options. As far as the free-roaming (3D) sections are concerned, however, the Daytime Stages of Sonic Unleashed are superior by virtue of having more of them that aren't on-rails and having some actual platforming in them.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.
