Sony PR still immature, news at 11.

Sony calls the Wii U "not a threat," bragging that they were doing high-def gaming back in 2006.

Wonder how many more potential buyers they lost from that comment.

Didn't they say exactly the same thing about motion control?

Isn't this the exact same thing they said about the Wii? You know, the underpowered thing that destroyed them this gen.

Honestly if Ninty can destroy them with "gimmics and kiddy graphics" then I think they should be afraid about what Nintendo can do with a high end system like the Wii U.

Sony appears to have forgotten every single thing that was in their favor that led to the rise of the PSX and PS 2.

Let's see if there's a game system maker that can both learn the lessons of the market and remember them.

I'm still buying from Sony. I don't get the Sony hate on this board. So far they've been much nicer than Microsoft or Nintendo. They give free, good, online play. Nintendo has an awful system that doesn't even have a hardrive and Micro$oft is nickel and dimeing everyone as much as possible for cash.

Sony is still the best this gen from a consumer standpoint. You don't have to spend as much money to have good service from them.

Furthermore, Sony and Microsoft are not directly competing with Nintendo this gen. Nintendo targeted a completely different audience. Sony and Micro$oft went for the more traditional hardcore audience.

Which makes Sony's latest PR statement even ridiculouser, seeing as how they've just accused Nintendo of being slowpokes, while simultaneously picking up what Nintendo did years ago. Even if Move is not good at all.

Also now Nintendo is targeting the same audience, and they're doing it with a more powerful system while carrying over their much larger user base.

The PSN breach could happen to anyone. Which has been proven by the string of video game hacks. Those guys aren't getting near as much hate and they have credit card info as well. Sony was a victim.

And I have a really,really big problem with people who blame victims.

What's so bad about the PSN anyway? The biggest complaint I've heard is lack of crossgame chat, but most PSN users don't use the chat anyway so it doesn't really matter.

The Sony hate is funny as hell, though. Transparent fanboyism is all the rage these days.

I don't know why they are bragging about HD, its a pretty worthless gimmick. They should be kicking themselves for putting so much effort into it in the first place. I mean, Microsoft has an excuse, they're American. "You will no longer receive a signal if your tv can't take in pictures designed to be shown on my television." Was by law in the US.

They were defending their property like you would yours. Geo Hotz meant well but hacking leads to piracy no matter what intentions you have.

Hate just leads to pain. Others laugh when hate comes. But as soon as the pain and problems come from that hate, they aren't laughing anymore.

They cry. They call out for help and scream at people who can't do anything about it. They blame their problems on people who aren't at fault.

Thats funny I would have thought that the PS Vita being conveniently the same price as the 3ds would have pointed to Sony directly viewing nintendo as a threat and is now directly competing against them. I guess that's what I get for using logic.
