Blood Lad

Anybody read this one yet? I've been sick of vampires for a while now, but this series seems okay aside from the wordy dialogue in some parts (that might be more the fault of the translating than the author).

Also, would Yanagi count as a flat character, mary sue, Ms. Fanservice, or all of the combined?

Just read this. I like all the characters except for Yanagi, who seems like too much like what you said above. Especially with the vampire and werewolf falling in love with her.

I am really enjoying this series thus far. The portal girl is much more interesting though than the main character girl who's name has not stuck with me.

Are we going to be posting the chapters in this thread as they come out?

Hadn't thought about that, but we could definitely start. It's a monthly series so the next chapter probably won't be out for a while.

I'd say everyone else is more interesting than the main character girl.

I am not sure what to make of this series really. I quite like the setting and some of the characters (werewolf boy and portal woman mostly) but I am not quite sure on the plot. Things do seem to be getting more interesting in the recent chapters and I am interested to see what happens with Stanz's brother.

Well the series has not even made it to the tenth chapter yet so there is bound to be some wait and see going on so far as the plot is. I just hope it doesn't take a turn for the worse.

So any bets on the armor person that Staz just met up with being a fiancee or something?

I doubt it is a fiancée, most likely a childhood friend or it could even be a sister. I am sure she we be good looking though, female characters introduced while wearing a mask generally are.

Could be although I'm hesitant on the sister front though. His brother fears his siblings power, or at least Staz's, why would he keep another one around?

Hmmm I hadn't thought of that but your probably right unless their powers run in the male side of the family. Whatever the case may be it seems she is someone Stanz thinks will get him to the in with a minimum of fuss. Another possibility is that it is his brothers assistant.

Actually I thought he was trying to avoid her, and his words to her were a lie.

I thought it was his brother he was trying to avoid, on the page before the one you liked to he said "If HE sees me it's all over".

I wonder if he was using gender neutral pronouns translated as he, or Liz is in a Boy Named Sue situation.

Then again I could be entirely incorrect wrong.

That's always a possibility.

The other issue at the moment though is why the former human girl is fading away while still in the demon world.

Well she is a ghost, maybe she needs to anchor herself so she doesn't pass on even though she should not have energy problems.

Expanding on that theory, it could be that she is anchored to Stanz and she can't stray to far from him for an extended period of time.

I can almost see him knowing about that, but forgetting when he ran off. I bet she needs more of his blood though, or maybe just another powerful person's blood.

He does seem to be the kind of person who would forget important details like that. I can seem them having to try sneaking into where Stanz is now and totally screwing up his plans.

I can't see them showing up unless they get teleporting girl to take them. They are pretty far away. She has an incentive to not care about ghost girl too so I don't think they will mess up his plan, if he even really has a plan.

They did say something about Wolf being a half noble or something and I don't see why they would mention something like that if it doesn't become important later. There are probably other ways to get there but portal woman is the only one that was untraceable.

She's also really fast, and would they even know that they need Staz? Yeah I bet she will end up drinking Wolf Boy's blood.

Chapter 10

I was right first time it is his sister and she is kind of cute. Ghost girl is also becoming a vampire/ghost hybrid which should be interesting

Oh well I was wrong about Liz. It seems we were not totally correct about Ghost girl, but not on the money either. Good chapter though. Will to bet Staz is going to just keep challenging those zombies over and over again next chapter.

I don't think Stanz would do that he doesn't seem to be the type. Then again if he can set something up for further down the road by fighting them again and again he probably would. His best bet would probably be to try and draw his sister into a straight fight where she cannot use her powers I think but I doubt she would fall for something like that.
