This trope is doing exceptionally well. It is not being misused. There is no objective reason to rename.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI agree with Shima, this is a good healthy Trope. The name might be a little long, but that's what redirects are for.
BTW, Do we need a single action Crowner?
Let's see some misuse first. The trope's doing fine currently, and anyone looking for Training Montage is going to find it.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Exactly.
I guessed it quite easily. In fact it seemed so obvious I was convinced that I was going to find out I was wrong when I clicked the link and it was nothing to do with the Rocky-esque montages, but it was. I guessed that trope in 1!
Well, the statistics don't say which of the two terms "Training Montage" or "Gonna Fly Now Montage" brought more people to the wiki, as they're all grouped together.
But they do show that out of the 297 pages that refer to this trope, the majority actually use the term "Training Montage" (56.5%, whereas only 42.4% use Gonna Fly Now).
So it seems to me that this trope is "healthy" primarily because of its redirect.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Which makes it successful. I think this may be a case of Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It.
I was going to mention that but it slipped through my sieve of a brain as I was reading the thread.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Also, "Named after a song", is not a reason to rename. First of all, being named for a work only applies when they are nearly identical, as in the biggest difference is a word or two spelled differently, or an article added. Second of all, songs are considered an exception, as they don't get their own work pages.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The only real exception being songs that are very specific, such as Carmina Burana.
Fight smart, not fair.Except "Carmina Burana" isn't very specific. (Most people really mean "O Fortuna.")
Carmina Burana is the name of a cantata, not a song. It's made up of 25 songs and is more analagous to having a page for an Opera or a Play than having a page for a song.

Fight smart, not fair.BTW, it's still a trope name, while songs don't get work pages made for them.

Can you Guess The Trope? Probably this is about Dumbo getting his first lessons with that magic feather? Or it's about Harry Potter making his first rounds on the broomstick?
Nope, it's not. While the trope is indeed about montages, it actually has nothing to do with "gonna fly", except that in one obscure example of such a montage, a song called "gonna fly" was used.
BUT, it has an alt title "Training Montage", which precisely represents what the trope is about. So how about we switch the two, call the trope "Training Montage" and leave "Gonna Fly Now Montage" as a redirect?
