I dreamed last night that in the third Avengers movie, they fought Bowser.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Funny comic with the three "princesses".
It's kind of long, but really funny. Peach and Daisy have Rosalina for a sleepover and pretty much torture her.
It seems so familiar...like that episode of Spongebob where there was a storm and Squidward had to stay in the pineapple with Spongebob and Patrick.
I looked back on my old idea for that Mario game with a bunch of characters, and then after watching Hyrule Warriors stuff, it clicked...
Mushroom Kingdom Warriors
This would be the perfect way to bring in a ton of returning characters. Each fighter would have interesting unique movesets, and said movesets and stats would evolve if they have a power-up on them. Like when the Fire Flower is activated, all moves have a fiery aftermath that inflicts a bit more damage on enemies. The Raccoon suit could add a tail shuffle move, the Tanooki suit could add and aerial Statue stomp, the Cat suit could add claw attacks and so on.

So, let's see, out of the characters they would actually use, that'd be Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Rosalina.
MAYBE E. Gadd, Wario, or Waluigi if they were feeling generous.
Not that great a lineup.:/
If they want a starting roster for a first game, they could have Mario (All-around Fighter), Luigi (Slippery Ghost Hunter), Peach (Elegant Techniques), Toad (Speedy Jabber), Rosalina (Cosmic Goddess), Daisy (Rough-n-Tumble Royalty), Yoshi (Hungry Egg-tosser), Wario (Greedy Tank), Waluigi (Lanky Trickster), Professor E. Gadd (Tactful Gadgeteer), Bowser (Mighty Lizard), Wart (Dream Stalker), Tatanga (Extra-Terrestrial Madman), Kamek (Mystical Koopa) and Foreman Spike (Dastardly Construction Worker).
15 characters is a good roster for a first game.

Looks so plush.
How can the big M's thread be so far behind? Heresy! This cannot be! Initating bump maneuver!
Anyway, hi guys. It's been ages since I last visited this thread.
Just yesterday I finished Paper Mario: Sticker Star. And about damn time, too. It had been sitting on a shelf catching dust ever since I purchased it more than a year ago.
My veredict is the following: Don't let the haters dissuade you. This is a fun, funny little game, even if it is quite different from the previous Paper Marios.
The main problem I saw was that it was simultaneously too easy and too difficult. It felt like I couldn't walk two steps without getting lost, and I had to resort to guides more than once, yet at the same time, it also went over really quickly. I breezed through it in five days, quite possibly the fastest I've ever finished a video game.
But still, as a whole, I found it thoroughly enjoyable. It might not be the best Mario game there is, but it's far from the worst.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."I found it a cute little fun game. Handheld Mario doesn't tend to take as long as console Mario. Unless it's like a remake of a console game.
You can get Sticker Star for like $5 or $10 now. I'd say that's a good deal for it. Not worth the $40 purchase though.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I just want another console Paper Mario in the style of the first and second game. Let Mario & Luigi be the handheld RPG.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Agreed. TTYD is still one of my all time favorite RPGs.

We all want a Waluigi game.
@Anom: While Paper Mario 64 was a great game (I can't speak for TTYD, as I've never played it), its days are long gone, and I believe the series will most likely never fully return to its roots. The sooner the fanbase accepts this, the better it'll be for them.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."It wasn't just that the first 2 games had RPG gameplay, it had GOOD gameplay that was well designed and fun to play through. The platforming and level design in SPM was really subpar, and the gameplay in Sticker Star just wasn't too good. Combat is entirely pointless, and the first and third bosses had really obtuse hints on how to beat them. (The second boss had several blatant hints on what you needed to do, there was no excuse for missing that one.) And the final boss was just horribly designed.
If they try different things and actually make it fun to play, that would be one thing, but it's been pretty miss so far. I'm all for devs trying new things, but that doesn't always work out.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Well, I enjoyed both of those.
Opinions, opinions
We'll see what they come up with for the next Paper Mario.

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."I enjoyed the first three. Super Paper Mario was a departure, yes, and I'd personally prefer they go back to the RPG style of the first two, but I did very much enjoy it as a standalone game without comparing it to the first two.
I decided to skip Sticker Star, and from what I've seen of it via videos or heard about via players, I feel it was wise of me to do so. It just sounds very dull.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! If you can get it for $10 or less, go for it, it's a good deal for a game like that. Not really that great but not really terrible either. It also has the "dishonor" of being one of the few Nintendo games to go on sale before 5 or 6 years have passed, so you can find it for cheap easily.
Honestly it doesn't really play like an RPG, more like a point and click adventure game without the pointing and clicking and some pointless RPG combat.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!I'd say it's more like a weird mixture of an RPG, a Mario platformer, and a puzzle game.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."...I'll just go and say it: I liked Super Paper Mario a good deal more than Thousand-Year Door.
This mostly comes down to the fact that I very much dislike the battle system in TTYD (having to rely on equippable items to get more than a tiny boost across the whole game in base offense, and for any increase in defense at all; defensive options are either a guard that only reduces damage by one (which becomes increasingly negligible over time) or a counter that's nearly impossible to get the timing down on), whereas I think the platforming in SPM was fairly solid and fun.
Sure, the story of SPM had a few more... mediocre parts than TTYD's, but they're pretty minor in comparison.
TTYD's a good game, don't get me wrong, I just really don't like playing it.
(And of course, Sticker Star was even worse with its gameplay and story, so there's that.)
a.k.a. Cly, that one girl who doesn't post here much anymore Something something YI = SMW 2 = SMB 5.I actually really like in the first two how your offensive power only goes up based on story events (Getting new Hammers and Boots) rather than as you level up. It helps mitigate the issue of accidental overleveling- the worst that happens if you overlevel is you can survive more hits and use optional moves/badges more frequently, neither of which cheapen gameplay unless you deliberately exploit badge combinations. And since Defense never increases naturally, it lets you see progressively larger enemy damage numbers to help give a sense of progression- if enemies were still dealing 2 or 3 damage by game's end it'd feel kinda weak even if it were balanced around that.
That's probably my biggest gripe with Super Paper Mario; it's so easy to wind up dealing 10 or more damage an attack, finishing off bosses in just a few hits. And on the defensive side, they really don't dish out much damage; the final bosses still only really deal 3 damage with their attacks which is kinda pathetic.

3DLand and 3DWorld were marketed as being like 2D Mario games in 3D...so the mechanics of the 2D games transfer over to this 3D environment...except the Triple jump being replaced by the Spin Jump from Sun Shine.
